Plane spotting reports

The reports you are adding are not really encyclopedic material and would be better suited to a blog type site. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

but this is a general encyclopeida not a plane spotting forum. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:28, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
surely all users of an encyclopaedia will learn from it using the perspective of their questions - and not just the perspective of a generalist. Or an ATC? Or a pilot? The question the Plane Spotting Reports answer is "What type of aircraft can be seen at this airport?" Be this question from plane spotters or any other curious person. Maybe the reports could be embedded within the text in abridged form - and not as a separate entry??? Would you object in this case? After all, airports are places for aircraft. In all their beauty and finery! KieranMaher 01:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First off, your reports are 8 years out of date. Second there were several examples that didn't stick with Wikipedia:Neutral point of view & Wikipedia:No original research. As an example I work at Cambridge Bay Airport, should I update it on a daily basis depening on the aircraft that arrive. The information should be more general and along the lines of general aviation rather than specific aircraft types. However, the best thing is rather than just two people discussing it we should see what others think. Therefore I would suggest that you see what others think at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 01:43, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
the edits you did to the various Victorian airfields are therefore up to 8 years out of date. You should have also included the date of the various observations. For example, Kendell Airlines no longer exist and this reference should be qualified. My conclusion is that you don't wish to entertain discussion about the ATC bias you've put on these pages, seem to be protecting them like your own possessions and are acting dictatorially by unilaterally deleting content added in good faith. I withdraw all my input from wikipedia forthwith. Good bye to you, sir!KieranMaher 11:34, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you feel that way. As I suggested it could be brought up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports where others may feel that the aircraft spotting reports are a useful part of the article. I feel that I have only made the articles conform to the way that other airports are set up, which do not really include aircraft spotting. I did not delete all your edits but tried to merge them in when I could and I did indeed recognize that you were acting in good faith. I mainly work on airport articles because it interests me and not because I have any feeling of ownership. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:09, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Yarra Trams

Please remember that Wikipedia is not the place for publicising your own blog and opinions. --Evan C (Talk) 07:04, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't published a blog on wikipedia nor have I expressed an opinion. Edits implies a number of edits. I made one only. Please explain what you are on about? KieranMaher 05:10, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies on the edit/edits issue - simple error. --Evan C (Talk) 07:17, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
ah I see! You've censored my weblink to http://kpmarz.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-get-terrorized-on-melbourne.html in relation to the wikipedia entry on Yarra Trams. Are you an official wikipedia censor? Are you or have you been in employment with or in association with Yarra Trams? KieranMaher 05:17, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is "censored" (as you put it) by its members (remember that Wikipedia is in fact not censored - this is simply maintaining a specified standard of article). This is done in accordance with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. These include WP:NPOV, WP:OR, and most specifically the guidelines of WP:EL - these were the reasons for which I removed your link. I have no affiliation with Yarra Trams. --Evan C (Talk) 07:17, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
