Story

After the Android and Cell threat, Future Trunks enters the World Martial Arts Tournament. He meets Kibito and the Supreme Kai and has to stop Babidi and Dabura from resurrecting Majin Buu. After fighting Dabura, Trunks knows he can't do it alone so he goes into the past to get the help of the past Z-Fighters. He manages to save the time machine and asks Goku, Gohan, Goten, Kid Trunks, Vegeta, Piccolo, Android 18 and Krillin to help them. Babidi creates clones of the Z-Fighters, Frieza and Cell to stop them. Vegeta lets himself fall to Babidi's spell again, but Goku manages to bring him back to his senses this time.

The energy of the battle revives Buu. He refuses to listen to Babidi so Babidi leaves him in Dabura's care and goes off to New Namek to use the dragon balls to place Buu under his control. However, the Z-Fighters manage to foil his plans. Cooler and Broly, who are joining forces, help Babidi. Buu makes friends with Hercule, but Dabura hurts him, turning Buu into Super Buu, who eats Dabura. Supreme Kai and Gohan go to the Other World to use the Z-Sword but no use.

Realizing that only the destined warrior of this timeline could pull out the Z-Sword, the Supreme Kai and Gohan set off to find Future Gohan. During their search, they encounter Future Pikkon fighting Janemba and teaming up, the two defeat Janemba shows up. Eventually they run across Goku's father, Bardock who engages in battle with Future Pikkon. After he is defeated, Future Goku appears and notes how different Gohan was from his counterpart. Seeing an opportunity to fight, Future Bardock engages in battles against Future Goku. It is only after the end of the battle that Future Bardock realizes he had just fought his own son. Eventually the group finally encounters Future Gohan, who was in a state of rage, could not recognize enemy from foe, mentally fighting Future 18. Gohan tries to calm his counterpart, they end of fighting with Gohan barely winning. Future Goku steps in and tries to calm his son down, but due to his continued state of rage, Future Goku has no choice but to fight which pleases Future Bardock that this was the way that true Saiyans settled issues. Future Goku wins the fight and with his words, he is able to break Future Gohan out of the grip of his self-inflicted mental torture. Assured that Future Trunks was alive and had beaten the Androids, Future Gohan is then told of the situation and he gladly accepts, willing to help save the Earth.

Afterwards, The Supreme Kai, Future Goku, Future Pikkon, Future Bardock, and the two Gohan's return to the World of the Kais where Future Gohan easily pulls out the Z-Sword. When that happens, Gohan smashes it, explaining that the sword itself wasn't important. When the Supreme Kai was in the middle of questioning this, the Elder Kai appeared offering to help, with him being surprised as to how Past Gohan knew about him. The Elder Kai then offered to unlock Future Gohan's hidden powers, the dead demi-Saiyan agreed though his counterpart gave a vague warning. The Elder Kai does indeed awaken Future Gohan's potential, but now the matter was how Future Gohan would help. Since Past Gohan didn't think of this, the Elder Kai then offered to bring back Future Gohan by giving up his own life and transferring his own life-force into him, which the Supreme Kai argued against it, but the Elder Kai insists, saying that self-sacrifice was cool. So in the same matter as Goku, Future Gohan was brought back to life by Elder Kai's life force. Future Pikkon and Future Bardock were granted one day in the living world to help. After saying their farewells to the Elder Kai and Future Goku, the two Gohan's and the two dead warriors were returned to Earth.

The fighters all gather together on the Lookout. Amazed at the amount of fighters they had, Goku also noted this occasion was the first time that he had ever seen his father, though Vegeta did not care. During this, Future Gohan and Future Trunks talked for the first time since the day that the former had died. After this, Goku gave a pep talk to rally the fighters together, but soon Babidi interrupts, demanding the Dragon Balls. When refused, Babidi leaves, threatening to have Earth destroyed if the Dragon Balls were not given to him. But not too long after that Future Janemba stole the Dragon Balls, prompting the Z-Fighters to go after the demon. After fusing together, Goku and Vegeta as Gogeta defeated Future Janemba but Babidi steals them.

If the player chooses another path, Buu absorbs Gotenks and Gohan, but thanks to Goku and Vegeta using the potara fusion, Vegito freed Gohan and Gotenks without them getting killed like they did in the past but the fusion still dissolves. Babidi uses the Dragon Balls to get his wish but Hercule steals his wish to save the earth by wishing himself to be the most popular man in the universe. Enraged, Babidi lashes out on Hercule but Buu took the blow. Enraged by Babidi trying to hurt Hercule, Buu eats Babidi. As a result of this, good Buu is separated from the Buu entity causing the final transformation into Kid Buu.

After a long battle with the Z-Clones, Future Janemba, Future Cooler, Future Cell, and Future Broly; Goku, Gohan, Goten, Future Bardock and Future Gohan use a combined Kamehameha attack to finally kill Future Kid Buu, saving the future. Thus, thanks to the Z-Fighters, the future world was safe again. And that ends the story, with the Z-Fighters of the Past waiting for the multi-seat Time Machine to recharge.
