Pan Lei (Chinese: 潘壘; 4 August 1927 - 22 July 2017) was a Taiwanese film director and writer. His original name was Pan Chengde(Chinese: 潘承德), also known as Pan Lei(Chinese: 潘磊), he was a Vietnamese Chinese who was known as the "Father of Taiwanese Art Cinema"(Chinese: 台灣藝術電影之父; pinyin: taiwan yi shu dian ying jhih fu). He also wrote under the pen name Xinxi(Chinese: 心曦).
Biography
Pan Lei was born in Vietnam. He died in Taiwan.
