BU used to be the ISO 3166-1 code for Burma, before the name of the country was officially changed to Myanmar in 1989. However, no .bu Internet top-level domain was ever assigned, and in fact the country had no country code top-level domain until 1997, when it was assigned .mm.[1] [2]
