Untitled

The liner notes for the credits are somewhat confusing for the bass players. It goes like this in my CD copy:

Bass - Max Bennett, (on Trouble Child) - Jim Hughart, (on People's Parties and Free Man in Paris) - Wilton Felder

I interpret this based on the commas as Max Bennett did the bass on everything except Trouble Child (Jim Hughart) and People's Parties and Free Man in Paris (Wilton Felder). I do so because the chimes part is listed:

Chimes (on Court and Spark) - Milt Holland

Thus, the instrument and qualifier (chimes [on Court and Spark]) are listed first, then the player for that instrument and/or song (Milt Holland).

Also, this is totally mixed up on the Love Has Many Faces liner notes for the credits. Those list the following as from Court and Spark:

for Car on a Hill, Max Bennett (which would be correct by my interpretation above)

for Court and Spark, Jim Hughart (which is clearly not correct by any interpretation of the above)

for Trouble Child, Jim Hughart (which is clearly not correct by any interpretation of the above)

for Just Like This Train, Max Bennett (which would be correct by my interpretation above)

for Down To You, no bass player is listed at all (and Susan Webb is listed as a "guest singer" that is not credited on Court and Spark at all)

for Raised on Robbery, no bass player is listed at all

I don't think that the person who did the liner notes for Love Has Many Faces is reliable -- that person also listed Milt Holland as doing conga on Carey from Blue, when Russ Kunkel is quite clearly credited with drums on the Blue liner note credits (Milt Holland is not listed at all on Blue's credits). Same for A Case of You (listed as from Blue): Bobbye Hall is credited for drums, while on Blue's notes it's quite clearly Russ Kunkel.

Thus, I ignored the Love Has Many Faces credits and went with my interpretation of the Court and Spark liner notes when I altered the bass credits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlueIris2 (talkcontribs) 18:41, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
