I see you're Australian, I'm American, and I'm telling you, bands are "they" here, ''not'' "it". "We went on tour with it" sounds completely wrong, and this tendency to refer to bands as "it" is something I've noticed on Wikipedia more than anywhere else (and not even consistently within articles, like this one).
