Early Life and Education

Born on July 7, 1989 in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Dr. Adedoyin Adeleke had his primary and secondary education in Osogbo and proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Ibadan for his bachelor and master’s degree respectively before he was awarded for his doctoral studies in Italy by the Italian Government, obtaining a PhD with a focus on Energy for Sustainable Development; working for a while in Italy, Adeleke relocated to Nigeria with a mission to drive green growth and development across Africa. Adeleke said there is a need for Nigerians to develop the country into a greener pasture like Europe and America.[2]

Career

Adedoyin served as a Lead Country Contributor to Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century's (REN21) four consecutive annual reports, "Global Status Report" on renewable energy for years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020[6]. He also served as a Country Contributor to the second edition of UNEP's 1 Gigaton Report on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in 2018. In 2023, Adedoyin was one of the 33 scientists from around the world who prepared the 2023 Climate Technology Progress Report[3] published by UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, UN Climate Changes, United Nations Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and UN Climate Change Technology Executive Committee. He served as a Reviewer of UNESCO's Country Profile for Nigeria on Climate Change Communication and Education.[7]
