Disambiguation from anisogamy

[edit]

The first sentence of this entry states, "Oogamy is a form of anisogamy where the gametes differ in both size and form," which implies that gametes do not differ in size and form in anisogamy. However, the first sentence of the Anisogamy entry states, "Anisogamy is a form of sexual reproduction that involves the union or fusion of two gametes that differ in size and/or form." So, both statements cannot be true. Is the definition of anisogamy correct? And if so, what actually disambiguates oogamy from anisogamy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.117.164.106 (talk) 17:37, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
