The International Military Tribunal for the Far East (also referred to as the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal) held trials between May 1946 and November 1948 for war crimes committed during World War II.

It was made of 11 judges and was led by Joesph B. Keenan, an American.

Seven Japanese leaders (Doihara, Hirota, Itagaki, Kimura, Matsui, Muto, and Tôjô) were sentenced to death and hanged for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Sixteen Japanese were senteced to life improsinement.
