Super 10
Hi Ronan!

I saw you asked if anyone knew anything about the Super 10 competition that preceded the Super 12. I have an excellent book "10 Years of Super 12" which as well as covering the Super 12, also has a lot of info on the competitions that came before. Thanks for uploading :Image:180px-Tankini-1-.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. ==Removal of sports logos==

I see i'm not the only one angered by your removal of Logos from sport competition pages.
:Indeed, but that doesn't make you right.
Could you please stop doing it.
:Unfortunately, no.
It degrades the quality of these articles.
:Maybe, but we can't use logos in this way.
These images are not used for decorative purposes in most cases but as informative tools.
:This debate has been had numerous times, and each time the consensus is that it is not fair use. By all means bring it up again at WP:FU, but you will be told the same as all before you.
I request that you stop. I also back the request from others that you stand down as an admin- you have clearly abused your power. Ronan.evans 13:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

; A-League News

* The 2006-07 A-League season is now two rounds old, with the early front-runners being Queensland Roar and Melbourne Victory.

* Adelaide United won the Pre-Season Cup, defeating Central Coast Mariners 5-4 on penalties.

; Project News

* The Player project has been moved, overhauled and refined. It now is not limited to the 2005-06 player list. However, only % of articles are considered "complete", and hopefully we can get this figure to approach 100% by the end of the season.

* Major changes to the layout of the 2006-07 A-League season page have taken place recently, and an infobox created. A table for attendances, as well as top scorer etc. are now in place. All users are encouraged to update the scores for completed matches as they come in.

* Recently, Perth Glory F.C. was moved to Perth Glory FC after no objections were raised at the Wikiproject talk page. All links to the old page (including various templates) were changed.

* The project requires pictures of games and stadiums to help improve articles. Any pictures are much appreciated.

* The A-League Portal has been set up. Feel free to update the scores, and make sure you check out the selected article and picture each fortnight.

* The football (soccer) barnstar has recently became the official award of the Wikiproject. Feel free to hand it out to anyone you see making excellent contributions to all things A-League related.

* Since the last newsletter was distributed (on August 5, 2006), four new members have graced our ever-growing list: Wantok, Ronan.evans, Tiefighter and Mattythewhite. ==Expansion of WP:A-League==

Just thought I'd let you know there is currently a proposal to expand WikiProject A-League to include all areas of football/soccer in Australia, including the NSL, A-League, Socceroos, state leagues and more. ==Fair use rationale for Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg==

Thanks for uploading :Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ==Unspecified source for :Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg==

Thanks for uploading :Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self-no-disclaimers tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as non-free fair use in or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following [ this link]. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC). Image tagging for Image:180px-Tankini-1-.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:180px-Tankini-1-.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Removal of sports logos

I see i'm not the only one angered by your removal of Logos from sport competition pages.

Indeed, but that doesn't make you right.

Could you please stop doing it.

Unfortunately, no.

It degrades the quality of these articles.

Maybe, but we can't use logos in this way.

These images are not used for decorative purposes in most cases but as informative tools.

This debate has been had numerous times, and each time the consensus is that it is not fair use. By all means bring it up again at WP:FU, but you will be told the same as all before you.

I request that you stop. I also back the request from others that you stand down as an admin- you have clearly abused your power. Ronan.evans 13:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin powers are block and protect. I have not used these here, let alone abused them.

...are absolutely awesome! You appear to be a conciencous, knowledgable and intelligent editor, and have shown real prowess and bold attitude when editing A-League 2006-07, especially. I wish to extend an invitation to you to join Wikiproject A-League. Your edits are exactly the type we love to see in people involved in A-League articles, and I'm sure we, and you, would benefit from joining the Project. A-League Newsletter II, 2006

WikiProject A-League Newsletter
Issue II – September 2006
Current Player project status
10% complete
A-League News

Project News
 • The Player project has been moved, overhauled and refined. It now is not limited to the 2005-06 player list. However, only 10% of articles are considered "complete", and hopefully we can get this figure to approach 100% by the end of the season.
 • Major changes to the layout of the 2006-07 A-League season page have taken place recently, and an infobox created. A table for attendances, as well as top scorer etc. are now in place. All users are encouraged to update the scores for completed matches as they come in.
 • Recently, Perth Glory F.C. was moved to Perth Glory FC after no objections were raised at the Wikiproject talk page. All links to the old page (including various templates) were changed.
 • The project requires pictures of games and stadiums to help improve articles. Any pictures are much appreciated.
 • The A-League Portal has been set up. Feel free to update the scores, and make sure you check out the selected article and picture each fortnight.
 • The football (soccer) barnstar has recently became the official award of the Wikiproject. Feel free to hand it out to anyone you see making excellent contributions to all things A-League related.

Expansion of WP:A-League

Hi Ronan.evans,

Just thought I'd let you know there is currently a proposal to expand WikiProject A-League to include all areas of football/soccer in Australia, including the NSL, A-League, Socceroos, state leagues and more. A more formal proposal page can be found here. Please indicate whether you support the idea or not at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject A-League, and also add your 2c about what the new project should be called. Cheers! – AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 04:17, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images in lists

Hello, I see you have contributed your thoughts to Wikipedia talk:Fair use/Fair use images in lists. It's been dead for a while, but I have archived it and taken a new fresh start. I hope this time we will be able to achieve something as I have summarized the main points of both sides (feel free to improve them) and I call you to express your support or oppose on the concrete proposal that I have formulated. Thanks, Renata 02:31, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg.

Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 19:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 19:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Eagles Logo-1-.jpg.

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
