Pacific Abyss (2007) is a five-part series on English television (BBC1), in which hosts Kate Humble, Mike Smart and Mike deGruy seek new marine species.
A variety of high-tech equipment, including ROVs and a Newt Suit, allowed for extremely deep dives, up to 800 feet.
The series started filming in April/May of 2007.
27 people took part in the expedition, including Jo Ruxdon who described the whole series as "something new" in that people have never been able to dive to such depths in such remote places.
The programme may air sometime in early 2008. The programme starts airing on ATV World in Hong Kong starting June 8,2008
