The Bay Area Toros are a professional baseball team based in Texas City, Texas, in the United States. The Toros are a member of the Continental Baseball League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. From the 2008 season to the present, the Toros have played their home games at Robinson Stadium. The Toros are the first minor league baseball team in the Houston metropolitan area since the 1970s.

Post-season play

By finishing regular season play with the league's best record, Bay Area received an automatic berth in the league championship series, hosting the winner of the first round of play.

The Texarkana Gunslingers won a rain-shortened first round against the Corpus Christi Beach Dawgs and advanced to play a best-of-three series at Bay Area beginning August 22, 2008. Bay Area won the first two games by scores of 2-1 and 9-3, earning the league championship for 2008.
