In August 2008, the web site Jossip.com broke the story of editor Carolyn Hinsey's firing, which generated over 1,700 public comments and unintentionally created what is being referred to as "Hinseygate". The soap world has never seen such scandalous allegations about the behind-the-scene shenanigans at a soap publication and the alleged notorious behavior of Hinsey and her colleagues at Soap Opeara Digest, Lynn Leahey and Stephanie Sloane.
