Tipping Point Community is a non-profit grantmaking organization that finds and funds the best poverty-fighting groups in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by Daniel Lurie in 2005, Tipping Point is modeled after the Robin Hood Foundation in New York, and has been praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for giving "young donors a place to make their first foray into the charity world by taking on issues of poverty and class."[1]

At the 2008 Tipping Point Community Benefit, they raised $3.76 Million in one night -- 100% of which will go out the door because the Tipping Point Community Board underwrites every penny of its operating costs. Guests at the benefit included former SF 49er and Tipping Point Board Member Ronnie Lott, YouTube co-founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, Google co-founder Sergei Brin, Paul Tudor Jones and Charles Schwab.
