The Cache la Poudre Wilderness is administered by the USDA Forest Service. It is located on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District on the Roosevelt National Forest in Colorado. This wilderness is 9,258 acres (37 km²) in size and is characterized by steep, rugged terrain along the Cache la Poudre River. Elevation in this area varies from 6,200 to 8,600 feet (2,620 m). Only one trail that is three miles (5 km) long exists in this wilderness.
