My name is Scott Alberts, and I teach statistics and interdisciplinary studies at Truman State University. I enjoy making up words for my own benefit or comical amusement. These words include but are not limited to "interdisciplinocity," "interdisciplinaritiveness," "interdisciplinacious," and the like.

During Fall 2006, I used Wikipedia as part of my class on interdisciplinarity. It's either a really cool idea, or not. We'll share what we find at the page for School Projects. You can see what they did on their Lab 2 Assignment.

I tried to do a better job the following fall. I either did or not.

Every spring semester, I teach an interdisciplinary studies class for Junior-level students. The goal of the class is for students to gain an understanding of and appreciation for the use of various disciplines on a variety of subjects. These classes use Wikipedia in a very similar way to my fall classes, but to a lesser extent. User:GumbyProf/Spring08 has the most recent year.

I am the faculty adviser for the student senate and I coordinate a weekly faculty/student crossword puzzle lunch. I like to crunch [[numbers]], [[compare]] tables, [[read]], and [[fight]] [[injustice]] (though I recognize this as a [[subjective]] and culturally [[relative]] concept). I bend [[space]] and [[time]] beyond the [[limits]] of your mind.
