Clackson attended [[Peters Township High School]] in [[McMurray, Pennsylvania]], and played for the school's varsity ice hockey team, winning two [[Pennsylvania]] State AA Ice Hockey Championships. A vast majority of those players went on to play Junior A or [[college hockey]], but, to date, Clackson's as well as [[Christian Hanson]] ([[Toronto Maple Leafs]]) career's have progressed the farthest.

Matthew Clackson (born April 26, 1985) is a Canadian-born American professional ice hockey right winger who plays for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). His father, Kim Clackson, played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Quebec Nordiques.

Career

Clackson attended Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania, and played for the school's varsity ice hockey team, winning two Pennsylvania State AA Ice Hockey Championships. He was a teammate of Christian Hanson, currently with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After high school he played 2 seasons with the Chicago Steel of the USHL, and was then drafted in 2005 by the Philadelphia Flyers. He then headed to the NCAA and spent 3 seasons with Western Michigan University. After his junior season he decided to go pro and signed with the Flyers.
