Woody played center at [[Boston College]] before the Patriots selected him 17th overall in the first round of the 1999 draft. Woody would go on to start seventy-six games with the Patriots, mostly at center while winning two Super Bowls. Wooody signed with the Detroit Lions in the 2004 offseason and started all sixteen games at right guard. Woody's outstanding play earned him a selection as a Pro Bowl alternate.
