Hauerite is a mineral; manganese sulphide MnS2. It forms reddish brown or black octahedral crystals and it is usually found associated with the sulphides of other transition metals such as Rambergite. Discovered in Austia it is named after the mineralogists, JR Hauer and Fr Hauer.
