Revision as of 02:38, 19 May 2010

A tag has been placed on 11th and 7th millennium BC, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 17:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of 11th and 7th millennium BC

A tag has been placed on 11th and 7th millennium BC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with 11th and 7th millennium BC. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. KingNewbs (talk) 17:26, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy against original research. This is not the appropriate venue for posting your own theories. I've proposed 11th and 7th millennium BC for deletion in five days on that basis; but if you agree that the page is inappropriate for Wikipedia, please put {{db-author}} on top so it can be deleted faster than that. Thanks! —Angr If you've written a quality article... 17:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are five Polish villages with that name, please see Jałówka. There was never a town with that name. There is another village named Narewka. It is the site of the administrative unit, Gmina Narewka, but none of the five Jałówka villages are in it. All are in the same geographical region, Podlasie Voivodeship. We need to move your article (Jalowka) to the appropriate location - either one of the Jałowka villages of the Narewka one, once we can figure one which one are we talking about.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 02:50, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs a major rewrite. It reads currently as an unreferenced essay. Will you work on it in the next few days? We could usefy it for you. If not, it will be deleted (I'd like to merge some content to Camps for Russian prisoners and internees in Poland (1919–1924) but unreferenced content is not very helpful). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 22:45, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Pedros Cup

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pedros Cup, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced, no claims of notability, it is even unclear what kind of an event this was?

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Why not try translating http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro%27s_Cup to rescue Pedro's Cup? Fences&Windows 01:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Polish POW's in the Soviet captivity

The article Polish POW's in the Soviet captivity has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Content fork of an existing article: Polish prisoners and internees in Soviet Union and Lithuania (1919–1921).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the other article. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Illythr (talk) 00:15, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
