Born in Lousville, Kentucky to Ben and Cheryl Hesen. Has one brother, Andy Hesen. Was raised in Jeffersonville, Indiana and attended Jeffersonville High School. Grew up swimming for Keith Gast at Pacesetter Aquatics. Won three-straight Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) state championships in the 100-yard backstroke from 2002-04 as well as the 100-yard butterfly at the 2004 IHSAA State Championships. Was a 2002, 2003 and 2004 NISCA All-American in the 100 backstroke. Regarded as one of the nation's top high school backstrokers.

Benedict ("Ben") Hesen (born February 15, 1986) is an American swimmer from Jeffersonville, Indiana. Hesen is the current US Open record holder in the 50m backstroke.[1]

Born in Lousville, Kentucky to Ben and Cheryl Hesen. Has one brother, Andy Hesen. Was raised in Jeffersonville, Indiana and attended Jeffersonville High School. Grew up swimming for Keith Gast at Pacesetter Aquatics. Won three-straight Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) state championships in the 100-yard backstroke from 2002-04 as well as the 100-yard butterfly at the 2004 IHSAA State Championships. Was a 2002, 2003 and 2004 NISCA All-American in the 100 backstroke. Regarded as one of the nation's top high school backstrokers.
