This is a list of characters who appear in Wes Craven's Scream film series. This list arranges the characters by the film in which they were created (first appeared in), and then into alphabetical order.

Scream

Billy Loomis

Billy Loomis is the main killer in Scream. Sidney Prescott's mother had an affair with his father, which resulted in his mother leaving them. Billy and his friend Stu Macher kill Sidney's mother and frame Cotton Weary, a man she once had an affair with. A year later they murder Casey Becker and her boyfriend, Steve. His choice of apparel is a generic Halloween costume that several people own, making finding the killer almost impossible. This killer is now known as Ghostface. They then begin to target Sidney. He is arrested after finding a cell phone on him the night Ghostface strikes her house. He is released due to the fact that his cell phone bill showed that he didn't make the calls and that the killer continued to call Sidney, even while Billy was incarcerated (It was actually Stu calling). In the climax of the film, it is revealed that Billy and Stu took turns doing the killings while the other did the calls. They devise a plan to kill Sidney and frame Sidney's father for the killings, but after being distracted by Gale Weathers, Sidney is able to escape, stabs Billy with an umbrella, and ultimately kills Stu. Billy suddenly attacks Sidney, and just as he is about to stab her, Gale arrives and shoots him. As they gather around his "corpse", he jumps up, only to be shot in the head, killing him for good. His mother attempted to avenge his death in Scream 2. He is portrayed by Luke Wilson in the 'Stab' movies. He and Stu have been mentioned in the last two movies.

Casey Becker

Casey is Ghostface's second victim, who was killed following a taunting telephone call in which she is quizzed on horror movie trivia. She is apparently a horror film fan, and her favorite horror film is Halloween, although she had seen all the A Nightmare on Elm Street sequels as well as Friday the 13th. When she misses a question in the killer's trivia quiz, Ghostface murders her boyfriend Steve in front of her. She flees, only to be chased down by Ghostface. She is then stabbed 3 times, gutted and hanged from a tree. Her grisly death serves as an introduction to the series (much like the death of Judith Myers began the Halloween film series, or the death of Tina Grey served as an introduction to the murder spree of Freddy Krueger). Casey was played by Heather Graham in the movie 'Stab', which was shown at the beginning of Scream 2.

Cotton Weary

Cotton Weary was the original suspect in the rape and murder of Maureen Prescott, Sidney's mother. She was apparently sadistically raped and murdered. While in court, Gale Weathers frequently defended Cotton, saying he was innocent because the witnessing Sidney's account seemed like a flawed one. She even made a book about the murder, saying Cotton was framed or wrongly identified. He was found guilty and, according to Gale, sentenced to death in the California gas chamber. At the end of the first film Billy Loomis and Stu admit to killing her mother a year ago and framing Cotton, although Cotton did have an affair with her.

After being released in Scream 2, he is featured on the news a lot. After the theater slayings, he goes to Windsor College along with Gale for an interview. Sidney however continues to refuse it. Although innocent and very compassionate, he does seem to sometimes be quick to anger. After Sidney is threatened in an email in the library, while the detectives search for who sent them, he demands an interview with Sidney in an almost threatening way. Due to this, he is a prime suspect. At the end of the film, he saves Sidney while Mrs. Loomis holds Sidney hostage. He says he wants just one TV interview. When Sidney accepts, he shoots Mrs. Loomis. (She is later shot again by Sidney to prevent comeback for a final scare).

In the beginning of Scream 3, Cotton has become very famous, having his own talk show called 100% Cotton. He gets a threatening phone call asking about where Sidney lives. He refuses to say, and for it, the killer says his girlfriend is going to die. He rushes home quickly. There his girlfriend is hysterical because she knows the killers inside the house and attacks Cotton. She is then killed by a Ghostface-clad person. Cotton fights back but is stabbed and finally killed.

Deputy Dwight "Dewey" Riley

  • Portrayed by David Arquette
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3, Scream 4

Dwight "Dewey" Riley is the older brother of Tatum Riley and a good friend of Sidney Prescott. He is the deputy sheriff of Woodsboro and 25 years old. He helps protect Sidney during the times when the killer is at large. As the film progresses, Dewey develops an attraction to Gale. During the climax, he is stabbed in the back by the killer. Originally, Dewey was supposed to die after getting stabbed in the back. On a hunch, Wes Craven decided to film an additional scene with Dewey on a stretcher getting put into an ambulance. Craven thought the audience may like the character enough to survive, so he decided to leave it up to a test audience. They responded positively, so the footage was left in and Dewey survived to come back for the sequel.

In Scream 2 he arrives once again to protect Sidney. He now has a limp due to a severed nerve, caused by his injury in the previous film. He is angry at Gale Weathers for depicting him as inexperienced in her new book about the murders and for refusing to leave Sidney alone. Gale and Dewey later have a brief sexual moment, where they realize that Ghostface is in fact inside where they were. Gale and Dewey are separated and Dewey is stabbed several times behind a soundproof room that Gale is in. However, Dewey once again survives the ordeal.

In Scream 3, Dewey once again appears to aid in the investigation when a new killer surfaces. Between parts two and three, Dewey and Gale's relationship, which began in the last film, has apparently failed. At the end of the film, Dewey is the one to kill Roman, the new Ghostface killer, and afterward, Dewey asks Gale to marry him, which she accepts. He is portrayed by David Schwimmer in 'Stab' and 'Stab 2' (although Schwimmer does not appear in the Scream trilogy) and by fictional actor Tom Prinze in 'Stab 3'.

Gale Weathers

  • Portrayed by Courteney Cox
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3, Scream 4

In Scream Gale Weathers is a reporter who wrote a book on Maureen Prescott's death, explaining how she thinks Cotton Weary is innocent. She is rude, bossy and goes to great lengths to get a good story (Such as secretly videotaping unsuspecting teens at a house party). The only person she is very kind to is Dewey Riley. After Casey Becker and her boyfriend are killed, she comes to the town and talks with Sidney about her book. At the night of the party, Gale and Dewey find Neil Prescott's car in the bushes not far from the house. When they go back to the house, they see almost everyone has left the house and her cameraman brutally murdered. Gale tries to drive away in her news van but crashes into a tree after swerving off the road while trying to avoid a terrified Sidney (who has escaped from the house). Later, when Billy and Stu confront Sidney about their motive, an injured Gale arrives and pulls a gun on them. However, the safety is on, and Billy kicks her against a pillar on the front porch where Dewey's unconscious body is lying. This gives Sidney time to escape and fight back. Just as Billy prepares to stab Sidney, Gale shoots him. Sidney then shoots Billy again as he suddenly wakes up–as Randy predicted–for "one last scare."

In Scream 2, she has written a new book on murders of the previous year. Sidney, although grateful she saved her life, refuses to do an interview with Cotton. Gale and Dewey's relationship, although strained at first, eventually turns heated. She later believes Dewey is dead after seeing him stabbed several times by the killer. In the climax, Gale is brought in by Mrs. Loomis to the school theater. Mickey shoots Gale after Mrs. Loomis shoots him and she falls off the stage. However, the bullet bounces off Gale's ribs, allowing her to survive. Once the whole ordeal is over, Mickey suddenly springs to life and is shot to death by Sidney and Gale. She goes with Dewey to the hospital afterwards.

In Scream 3, she is shown to be much more compassionate than in the first two films. She has written another book based on the copycat killings from the last movie. She returns along with Dewey after Cotton is murdered and the actors are killed off. She survives the climax in the Hollywood home of John Milton. At the end, Dewey asks Gale to marry him, which she accepts. She is portrayed by fictional actress Jennifer Jolie in the 'Stab' films.

In Scream 4, Gale is married to Dewey and has settled into Woodsboro. However, when the killings start to happen again she makes it her mission to expose the killer once and for all. In the trailer, it seems she may be one of the killer's victims.

Ghostface

  • Portrayed by Roger L. Jackson (voice)
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3, Scream 4

Ghostface is the killer, however, unlike other slasher movies, he is not just one man committing murders, he has been the disguise of five different people–Billy, Stu, Mrs. Loomis, Mickey and Roman. Also, unlike other killers in slasher movies, he is not speechless and sometimes talks to his victims on the phone before killing them. At the end of each film, he/she/they reveals him/her/themselves to Sidney.

Hank Loomis

  • Portrayed by C. W. Morgan
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 3

Hank Loomis is the father of Billy. He separated from his wife after she found out he was having an affair with Maureen Prescott. Despite the Loomis family being broken apart, Hank remains by his son's side when Billy is being interrogated because he's a person of interest. It is later revealed that Billy was shown footage of Hank and Maureen meeting at a motel, which proved that the rumors of the affair were true.

Kenneth "Kenny"

Kenny is the cameraman of Gale Weathers. Gale picks on him if something doesn't go her way. She is seen telling him he's about fifty pounds overweight when she misses an interview with Sidney Prescott and is then insulted by Tatum Riley. Kenny also mumbles insults to Gale behind her back and is seen to have enjoyed watching her get punched by Sidney, saying, "Nice shot!" Kenny is seen as wanting to make the world a better place, while Gale seems to want fame. When deaths of Woodsboro residents raise the possibility that Cotton really is indeed innocent, Kenny becomes excited because an innocent man might be set free while Gale becomes excited because her book sales might boost. Kenny and Sidney see the killer approaching Randy Meeks on a thirty-second delayed hidden camera that Gale planted in the Macher residence, and when he runs to alert Randy, the killer slits Kenny's throat. Kenny is the killer's fifth victim, and last in Scream.

Kenny's death was one of a few things Wes Craven had to tame down to avoid an NC-17 rating.

In Scream 2, when Dewey, Gale and Randy are discussing the murders with Gale's new cameraman Joel, he becomes extremely uncomfortable when Kenny is brought up and leaves. Ironically, Kenny died trying to save Randy, and when Joel left because Kenny's death was brought up, Randy got killed. Also, in first draft of Scream 2, Randy is Gale's cameraman and his throat also gets slit like Kenny's did.

Maureen Prescott

  • Portrayed by Lynn McRee
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 3

Maureen Prescott is the mother of Sidney and Roman. Her daughter was unaware of her secret life. She spent her whole life in Woodsboro, but left for two years and moved to Hollywood, where she appeared in some of John Milton's (who had slept with her) horror movies, under the stage name Reena Reynolds, and she had a son named Roman who was conceived during a rape at one of Milton's parties, but she put him up for adoption. When he found her years later she rejected him. Prior to her death, she had been having numerous affairs with local men including Cotton Weary and Billy Loomis's father (which is what broke up the Loomis marriage). Roman had filmed this and showed it to Billy, which is what led him to murder her one year before the Woodsboro murders. It was set up to look like Cotton had raped and killed her, as the real killer had planted a jacket with Maureen's blood in his car to frame him. After her death, many Woodsboro residents constantly referred to her as a 'slut'. Her estranged son, Roman, left young pictures of her on his victims' bodies in Scream 3.

Neil Prescott

  • Portrayed by Lawrence Hecht
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 3

Neil is the father of Sidney and widower of Maureen. He's a businessman who occasionally goes on business trips. When the Woodsboro Police Department found out that Neil didn't check into The Hilton he had reserved for one of his business trips, he became the prime suspect for the death of Casey Becker, Steven Orth and Principal Himbry. It is later revealed that he was kidnapped and tortured by the real killers, Billy and Stu. Neil is saved by his daughter along with Gale Weathers and Randy Meeks. Neil remains close to Sidney, trying to help her cope with the anxiety, paranoia and even guilt brought on by all the murders.

In early drafts of Scream 3, Neil was going to be the killer. Plotting to get to Gale, after she made so much money off the death of Maureen.

Principal Himbry

Principal Himbry is school principal. After expelling two students for pulling a cruel prank, he is fooling around in his with the Ghostface mask looking in the mirror and pretending to scare himself office until someone knocks on the door. He opens the door and finds no one there, then he goes out and checks for whoever knocked on his door, but only finds the janitor. As he goes back to his office, he closes the door and the killer appears, and he is stabbed multiple times and dies. Bob Weinstein added Himbry's death in because they felt the time frame was too far between Casey Becker and Tatum Riley, so they added him as a victim to keep the audience interested. He's the killer's third victim.[1]

Randy Meeks

  • Portrayed by Jamie Kennedy
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3

In the published screenplay, Randy is described as the "fifth wheel" of the group that he and Sidney hang out in. Randy has an obsession with horror movies, a strong knowledge of film clichés and stereotypes, and a job at a video store. With this background, Randy is the ultimate guide, explaining to others how to survive and how to defeat the killer. Randy has also been correct on the identity of the killers. In Scream, the only two people Randy accuses of being the killer are Stu and Billy, which turned out that they were both the killers. In Scream 2, Randy mentions the possibility of Mickey being a killer, and even goes as far as bringing up Mrs. Voorhees, an obvious foreshadow to Mrs. Loomis being the killer.

Randy makes a narrow escape in Scream, with the killer coming only inches away from stabbing him before getting distracted by Sidney. Randy watches Halloween alone on the couch, pleading for Jamie Lee Curtis to turn around. Unknown to him, the killer is slowly approaching him and Randy isn't taking his own advice. Randy repeatedly shouts at the television, "Jamie, turn around"; this is a bit of an in-joke, as the actor who portrays Randy is also named Jamie. At the end of the published screenplay, Randy kills Billy, not Sidney. Randy also builds up the courage to ask Sidney out on a date, to which she replies, "As long as it's not a Meg Ryan movie."

Randy, unfortunately, isn't as lucky in Scream 2. He and Sidney both attend Windsor College, where he takes a film class. After a new series of murders start happening, he and Dewey try to solve the case. While Gale and Dewey try to find the caller, Randy talks to the killer. He insults Billy, Stu, and the killer, saying that they'll never be famous. He is then pulled into a van and stabbed to death in broad daylight. In the screenplay, the killer slits Randy's throat. While it doesn't show the killer slashing his throat in the movie, if you look closely you can see a wound on Randy's neck when Gale opens the van. It's revealed that Mrs. Loomis killed him, telling Sidney that when she heard him insult Billy, she "got a little knife happy".

Randy may be best remembered as the character that explains the rules to surviving. In Scream, he explains the rules on how to survive a horror movie (in the trailer, he says "scary movie"). In Scream 2, he explains the rules on how to survive a sequel. Even though Randy didn't survive Scream 2, Scream 3 is no exception to a round of rules. Martha Meeks, Randy's sister (portrayed by Heather Matarazzo), discovers a tape Randy filmed before his death explaining the rules of a trilogy.

Wes Craven and Ehren Kruger tossed around the idea that Randy would return in Scream 3 alive, and that he actually didn't die in Scream 2 but was seriously injured and his family put him into hiding to keep him safe. The idea was scrapped due to it being too unrealistic for the series.[2]

Randy was the only major character in Scream without a last name. His last name wasn't revealed until the closing credits of Scream 2.

Sheriff Burke

Burke is the sheriff in Woodsboro. He was at the scene when Maureen Prescott was killed and also ran the investigations for the Woodsboro Killings a year later. On the first night of the town's curfew, Burke is seen to fall off the wagon and begin smoking again. We last see him stomp out his cigarette butt. In a deleted scene, Dewey is seen to have thrown down his ice-cream cone and stomp it, copying Sheriff Burke.[3] Joseph Whipp also played the sheriff in Wes Craven's famous A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Sidney Prescott

  • Portrayed by Neve Campbell
  • Appeared in: Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3, Scream 4

Sidney Prescott is the protagonist who mostly recognizes the killers when they reveal themselves to her, such as Billy (her boyfriend), Stu (her best friend Tatum's boyfriend), Mrs. Loomis (Billy's mother) and Mickey (her boyfriend's best friend). The only killer she did not know personally was Roman (her estranged half-brother). She is portrayed by Tori Spelling in the movie 'Stab' and 'Stab 2' and by fictional actress Angelina Tyler in 'Stab 3'. Sidney is also the catalyst for why the murders happen and the killers' motives.

Steven "Steve" Orth

Steve Orth is Casey's boyfriend. He was duct taped to a chair outside Casey's house and when she gets the question wrong, the killer kills the athlete by ripping him open while he is still strapped to the chair. He is the first on-screen murder of the trilogy.

In the published screenplay, his last name is Forest. In Scream, when we are first introduced to Tatum Riley outside of Woodsboro High, she clearly says, "Casey Becker and Steven Forest were killed last night."

Stuart "Stu" Macher

Stu Macher is the second killer in Scream. In the published screenplay, his last name is spelled Maker, and on the closed captioning of Scream, his last name is spelled Marker. He appears to be weak willed, insensitive and eccentric, and is obsessed with horror movies. He's romantically involved with Tatum Riley. He aids Billy in the killings apparently for no real reason, except for "peer pressure." They first attack Casey Becker after she dumped him for another man, Steve. Later, Stu throws a party at his house as his parents aren't home. It's revealed that Stu and Billy took turns at doing the killings while the other did the phone calls. After the guests leave, Stu and Billy reveal their plan to Sidney, including how they're going to frame her father, Neil Prescott. Billy and Stu begin to stab each other to make themselves look like the victims of their scapegoat. Stu claims that after watching several horror films, they know how to frame and get away with murder. However, Billy stabs him too deep and Stu begins bleeding profusely, complaining of "feeling woozy here" and appears to be dying from his wounds. Sidney runs off after they are distracted by Gale. With Billy unconscious, Stu chases Sidney down and attempts to kill her, claiming that he "always had a thing for [her]." She hits him with a vase, and drops a TV on his head, electrocuting and killing him. Stu and Billy have been mentioned in the last two movies.

Matthew Lillard makes an uncredited cameo in Scream 2 as a sorority party extra in the scene where Rebecca Gayheart ask if "harmonica style is ok".[citation needed]

Tatum Riley

Tatum Riley is the best friend of Sidney Prescott and appeared in the 1996 film Scream. She is completely opposite to Sidney being easy-going, sexy, and strong-minded, also a fun and witty high school student. She helps Sidney, through her mother's death. Tatum's boyfriend Stu holds a party and invites the whole school round. She is asked to bring beer out of the garage fridge, but is ambushed by the killer. She thinks its joke but as she is slashed on the arm she uses her strength to fight back. She throws beer bottles from a distance as the killer wields a knife, as he rushes to her, he hits him in the face and her falls clumsily over her. As there is no other way out, she uses a cat flap as an escape. Initially getting through the door, she eventually gets stuck halfway and she cannot pull free; Ghostface presses the garage button to open, sending Tatum with it. She screams for her life she is lifted upwards, and her neck is snapped between the ceiling and the door.

Scream 2

Casey "Cici" Cooper

Cici appears in a classroom scene, in which she talks with other characters about movie sequels. Late that night, Cici is the "sober sister" for her sorority, on call should a drunk sister need help. Cici starts getting strange phone calls, at first thinking it's her boyfriend. She realizes it's not him after Ghostface taunts her asking if she wanted to die. Cici panics and runs outside while trying to phone campus security but cannot get a signal. She goes back inside to get a signal, where she hears strange noises from upstairs that turns out to be one of her sorority sisters. As the two talk, Ghostface slips in the front door which CiCi left open. The sorority sister leaves, and Ghostface calls back resuming the conversation the two sisters just had. She sets the alarm and locks the door. Now believing someone could be in the house, Cici curiously checks rooms in the house. The phone rings again and as Cici answers it she is attacked. In a desperate bid to stay alive she races up the stairs with Ghostface chasing after her. As she is chased up the stairs Cici throws objects at Ghostface, including a flower pot and a bicycle. After narrowly escaping him a few times she reaches the top floor, she hesitates at the balcony in her house, Ghostface grabs her and throws her through the glass doors. Pleading for her life she dizzily crawls trying to stand up, Ghostface stabs her twice in the back and throws her off the balcony to her death. In the aftermath of her death, Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley realize from her name, Casey, that the killer is replicating the original Woodsboro killing series.

Chief Hartley

Hartley is the Chief in the city that the Windsor College Murders are occurring. Lewis Arquette is David Arquette's father.

Dawnie

Dawnie was a sorority sister of Casey "Cici" Cooper. Just as Cici begins to receive phone calls from the killer, Dawnie shows up at the house, and, after briefly talking with her, leaves.

Strangely, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Cici, would later play Buffy Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and whose younger sister Dawn Summers was sometimes affectionately called "Dawnie".

Debbie Salt/Mrs. Loomis

Mrs. Loomis is the mother of Billy Loomis. She abandoned him after her husband cheated on her with Maureen Prescott, Sidney's mother (and dialogues suggest that her marriage was deteriorating due to her obesity). In revenge, Billy and Stu killed Maureen, framed Cotton, and a year later attacked Sidney which ends with Billy and Stu's deaths. Mrs. Loomis is stricken with grief after her son's death in addition to her divorce, and eventually driven insane by these subsequent tragedies. She had a makeover and met Mickey on a killer website. He has agreed to copy cat the original Woodsboro murders in exchange for guidance, tuition expenses and to become famous when the murder went to trial. She poses as Debbie Salt, a reporter covering the Windsor College Murders, who bothers Gale Weathers a lot. Randy Meeks is her only known victim as the masked killer when she stabs him to death in a news van. Early in the film she attempts to kill Sidney twice: once at the Delta Lambda Zeta sorority house dressed as the killer, but fails to do so. She tries again a second time during Sidney's drama rehearsal dressed as the supporting cast, but fails again when the director gets suspicious of the extra cast member. In the final scene, she kills Mickey (she had no desire for the trial, wanting to disappear after the murder) and fights with Sidney. Right when Sidney is about to be killed, Cotton intervenes. While she holds her hostage, she tries to convince Cotton that Sidney needs to die, for she wrongly accused Cotton who had to spend a year in jail. After Sidney said she will do the interview, Cotton shoots Mrs. Loomis. After Mickey makes a surprise return, Sidney shoots Mrs. Loomis in the head, killing her outright.

Derek

Derek, played by Jerry O'Connell, is Sidney's boyfriend in Scream 2. At a party he tries to protect Sidney, in doing so his arm is slashed by Scream. He later serenades Sidney in the cafeteria and gives her a necklace (his Greek letters), for which his fellow frat boys hang him to a cross at a party. At some point later he is moved to the auditorium and descends as Sidney enters. As Sidney goes to untie him, Mickey, who at this time had revealed himself as the killer, tells her that Derek was his partner in the murders, which is a lie, making Sidney hesitate in her haste to untie Derek. Mickey then shoots Derek dead.

In the original SCREAM 2 screenplay Derek was one of the killers, along with Hallie and Debbie Loomis, but this was changed after the screenplay was leaked online.

Hallie

Hallie is Sidney's best friend at Windsor College. She wants to become a sorority sister, and attends mixers to become more popular. When Sidney is under 24/7 protection, Hallie gets in a police car with her and the two bodyguards, who are both murdered by ghostface, leaving the two girls stuck in the back seat with the doors locked. After crashing the car, Ghostface is unconscious in the driver's seat, the only way out is through the window next to him. After successfully escaping, Sidney runs back to the car to see who the killer is, but he is gone when she returns, and Ghostface jumps out behind Hallie and stabs her four times in front of Sidney.

In the original SCREAM 2 screenplay Hallie was one of the killers, along with Derek and Debbie Loomis, but this was changed after the screenplay was leaked online.

Joel

Joel is Gale's cameraman during the Windsor College Murders. He is shown to be more sensitive to the killings than anyone else. Joel leaves Windsor after finding Randy's body in the van out of fear, and to avoid the same fate as Gale's previous cameraman, Kenny.

In an early draft of Scream 2, Joel is one of Sidney's friends at college, who is found murdered during the end climax at the theater, and Randy Meeks is Gale's cameraman instead. [citation needed]

Lois & Murphy

Lois and Murphy are sorority sisters, befriending Sidney in attempts to get her to join their sorority. Due to Sidney's popularity from Stab, and the fact that Lois and Murphy both have a crush on her boyfriend Derek, they're both envious and jealous of her.

Maureen Evans

Maureen Evans and her boyfriend are going to see a preview of the film 'Stab', almost everyone in the cinema are wearing Ghostface masks, including her boyfriend, when he goes to the bathroom he is stabbed through the ear by the killer, who then steals his jacket and pretends to be him and sits next to Maureen in the cinema, she notices blood on his jacket. He then stabs her seven times in the crowded cinema the audience think it's a publicity stunt at first. Then she goes to the front of the stage. When the audience finds out she is not faking she drops dead. Both deaths were satirized in Scary Movie.

Mickey

Mickey is the main killer in Scream 2. He is the best friend of Derek, Sidney's boyfriend and appears to be romantically involved with Hallie, Sidney's roommate. He also seems to be really into movies like Randy. In an early scene in the movie, while at film class, he argues that violence in the media contributed to the theater killings, although he was the one who carried them out. He also finds sequels can be better than the original, unlike Randy. He and Randy seem to have a solid relationship, unlike the rocky one between Randy and the killers Billy and Stu. However, under this, Mickey is deranged and psychotic and throughout the film he is assumed to have killed the couple in the cinema that went to watch Stab, sorority girl Cici Cooper, the two cops that were protecting Sidney, her best friend Hallie and Sidney's current boyfriend Derek. Mickey has a fascination with murderers and how the media affects them. He met Mrs. Loomis, Billy Loomis' mother, on a serial killer website. With her guidance and tuition expenses, he does the killings so she can plan out the revenge for Sidney killing her son. Mickey, in the last scene, claims that unlike most killers, he wants to be caught so he will be "immortalized" by the media and be in the world's most talked about court trial. However, Mrs. Loomis shoots him, saying that his motive will never be believed and that she intends to disappear after killing Sidney. Before he dies, he shoots Gale off the stage. After the whole ordeal is over, he jumps back up and gets killed in a hail of bullets by Gale and Sidney.

In the original SCREAM 2 script, Mickey was actually murdered and wasn't the killer. Instead there was originally going to be three killers (Debbie Loomis, Derek and Hallie), but this was changed to Mickey and Mrs. Loomis when the original script was leaked online.

Officers Andrews and Richards

  • Portrayed by Philip Pavel (Andrews) and Chris Doyle (Richards)
  • Appeared in: Scream 2

Andrews and Richards are officers that are assigned as Sidney's security guards. Her boyfriend Derek finds them amusing. They tend to do a terrible job guarding Sidney when Cotton Weary is able to harass her in the library and ultimately the killer kills both of them (slitting the throat of one and impaling the other's head on a pipe) and Hallie.

Phil Stevens

Phil Stevens is the boyfriend of Maureen Evans. He is murdered in the bathroom stall during the opening scene in a movie theater showing Stab. He hears whimpering in the stall next to him and, amused, leans closer to understand the sound. The killer's blade goes through the stall and into Phil's ear. The killer then steals his jacket and sits next to Maureen in the theater.

Reporter

  • Portrayed by Nancy O'Dell
  • Appeared in: Scream 2, Scream 3, Scream 4

Nancy O'Dell plays a reporter who is seen giving an interview to Tori Spelling, who starred as Sidney Prescott in Stab, and is also seen reporting the death of Cotton Weary, who was to appear as himself in Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro.

Scream 3

Angelina Tyler

Angelina Tyler is an actress playing the part of Sidney in 'Stab 3'–taking over from Tori Spelling. She took place in a talent competiton to win the leading role in the movie. When 'Stab 3' is shut down, she steals a mask as a souvenir as she worries about not getting another big part. In the last act, at Milton's mansion, she finds Milton's secret passage. Before showing it to the others she finds out the killer is in the house. She reveals to Gale and Jennifer that she had to have sex with John Milton in order to get the part of Sidney. She runs away from the others, not wanting to die with 'second rate celebrities' before getting stabbed in the stomach. Gale and Jennifer watch helpless as her body is dragged away by the killer. She is killer's sixth victim in the film.

Originally, she was considered to be the second killer. She would have been Roman's lover and an old classmate of Sidney's from Woodsboro High School. The idea was later scrapped.

Christine

Christine is Cotton Weary's girlfriend and the first victim in the beginning of Scream 3. She was first seen to be stalked by Ghostface as she showers in her Hollywood home. When she exits the shower she hears loud music from another room. It then stops and she can hear Cotton talking to her. Suddenly, the killer springs up and chases her down a corridor where she locks herself in a room. The killer then using Cotton's voice tried to talk her into opening the door. The actual Cotton then arrives and breaks into the room only to be attacked by the confused Christine. The actual killer then comes up behind her and stabs her to death, he then attacks Cotton and before he stabs him, he finally reveals his voice changing device which has Cotton's voice built in to it.

Detective Mark Kincaid

Mark Kincaid is a detective who assigns Gale Weathers to help him with the current murders. He also appears to be somewhat attracted to Sidney. He is attacked by the killer at the end of the film, but survives and is shown to still be in contact with Sidney, Dewey, and Gale. At the end you can see he fell for Sidney where the both go watch a movie together with Gale and Dewey.

Jennifer Jolie

Jennifer Jolie is an actress who is dating Dewey Riley and is playing the part of Gale Weathers in 'Stab', 'Stab 2' and 'Stab 3' After realizing that she may be the next victim, she sticks by Gale constantly despite their mutual hate, believing that the killer will choose the real Gale over the pretend one. She helps Dewey and Gale as they try to find out who the killer is. In the last act of the movie, at Milton's mansion, the killer attacks the group. She runs into a closet, only to fall through a trap door. The killer finds her and finally stabs her to death behind a row of one-way mirrors. Gale and Dewey find her body shortly after by shooting one of the mirrors. She is the eighth victim in the movie.

John Milton

Milton is the producer for all three 'Stab' films, plus several other films that are notable in the 'Scream Universe'. His mansion is rumored to have a hidden home theater, which is proven to be true at the climax of the film. Milton admits to Dewey, Gale and Jennifer that Maureen may have been abused at one of his infamous parties back in the 1970s. It is assumed that Roman was conceived during one of these parties, as he blames Milton for turning his mother "into a slut". Roman kidnaps Milton, ties him up and hides him in a closet in the screening room later killing him in front of Sidney by slashing his throat.

Roman Bridger

Roman Bridger is the killer in Scream 3. He is the movie director for Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro. When the actors begin to get killed off in the ways of the new film, everyone realizes there is yet another copy cat Ghostface. Instead of just using the past killer's tactics of just calling and killing, Roman used new approaches. These include filling the room with gas in the dark, making Tom Prinze have to use a lighter to read, causing the room to explode. He also uses a new voice masker that sounds like people someone knows, making them confused (this was used in the murder of Cotton Weary and his girlfriend). Roman was found dead in a trunk, but it is later revealed he staged his own death to eliminate himself as the suspect. He reveals to Sidney that he is her half-brother. Maureen Prescott (under the name Reena Reynolds) was gang raped while working as a B movie actress, and put her son up for adoption at birth. He spent his life trying to find Maureen, but when he found her, she wanted nothing to do with him. Wanting revenge, he told Billy Loomis why Billy's mother left him. He convinced Billy to kill her and have a weak-willed accomplice, which turned out to be Stu Macher. Sidney shoots Roman, but he has a bulletproof vest. He shoots her, but she had one on too. She then stabs him and when Dewey arrives, a still alive Roman jumped up and was shot in the head by Dewey, killing him for good.

Sarah Darling

Sarah Darling appears in Scream 3 for two scenes, as does her character in the movie 'Stab 3'. She is apparently a bigger actor than Angelina Tyler, Jennifer Jolie, Tom Prinze and Tyson Fox as stating that she has done better than Stab 3 and the she needs to get a new agent. She believes that she is talking on the phone to Roman (the director of Stab 3) discussing the fact that she had to play 'Candy' the slut girl in the film and the fact that she was annoyed with the idea of being in only two scenes and dying naked, when he reveals that he is the killer. She hides in a wardrobe full of Ghostface costumes and tries to phone the cops. One of the Ghostface costumes however is the killer, who attacks her. She runs into a room and tries to fight off the killer, but eventually she is pushed through a glass door by the killer who then stabs her, leaving a young picture of Sidney's mother on her corpse. She is the third victim in the film.

Tom Prinze

Tom Prinze is an actor playing the part of Dewey in 'Stab 3', taking over from David Schwimmer. When the killer is toying with the group, he goes back inside Jennifer's house to read a fax the killer has sent revealing who will be the next to die. He uses a lighter to read the fax as the power was shut off. The fax reveals the house has been filled with gas and he is blown sky high. He's the killer's fifth victim.

Tyson Fox

Tyson is an actor playing the role of Ricky, a video store clerk (hinted at being a Randy substitute), in 'Stab 3'. He does not seem too bothered about the murders, more so about the fate of the movie. In the last act, at Milton's mansion, Ghostface attacks the group. In the struggle, Tyson is stabbed in the stomach. He runs out of the room, having the killer chase him down a set of stairs and along a corridor. He is made to fall over by the killer who swiftly throws him into a glass cabinet and over a balcony. A metal detector is placed next to his body for Sidney to use. He is the killer's seventh victim.

Steven Stone

Stone is Jennifer Jolie's bodyguard. While at Jennifer's house, he goes to investigate the trailer Dewey lives in beside the house. The killer attacks him, stabbing him in the back and hitting him over the head numerous times with a frying pan. The others discover his body as he manages to stumble away from the attack, but he falls to the ground, dead in front of the house for everyone to see. He is the fourth victim in the film.
