Croatan Beach is an affluent[neutrality is disputed] residential neighborhood in the independent city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. It is located south of Rudee Inlet, near the Virginia Beach resort oceanfront.[1]
The beach has many large oceanfront and inlet-front homes.[vague] It is a very quiet and secluded area.[neutrality is disputed] Croatan Beach is a popular destination for locals due to the large free parking lot at the south end of the beach as well as the fact that a breeze is almost always blowing.[citation needed]
Few tourists come over the Rudee Bridge and the entrance to the neighborhood is not obvious to most.[neutrality is disputed] Surf schools are run by the Recreation Center and Hotline Surfboards during the summer.[citation needed] Just north of Croatan Pass, Rudee Inlet is the infamous[clarification needed] 1st Street.[citation needed] The ECSC[clarification needed] has been held at this location for 40 years.[citation needed]
