Hemlata (born Lata Bhatt) was a Bollywood playback singer in the 1970s and early 1980s. She won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for her classical rendition of "Tu jo mere sur mein..." with K. J. Yesudas for Chitchor (1976).[1]

She began her career by singing "Chanda ko dhoondhne..." in Jeene Ki Raah (1969) which was a duet with Lata Mangeshkar. From there-on, she sang for many films including Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, Insaaf Ka Tarazu, Nadiya Ke Paar, Aap To Aise Na The and Paheli. She mostly sang for musicians like Usha Khanna and Ravindra Jain. However, she was unable to gain greater popularity in Bollywood, and till date is remembered for her rendition of title song for Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se.
