The Lillian Ngoyi is the lead vessel in the South African Ministry of the Environment's Lillian Ngoyi-class environmental inshore patrol vessels.[1][2][3] She was built in South Africa by Farocean Marine based on the Damen Stan patrol vessel 4802 design.

Within months of her commissioning the South African government was reporting successful anti-poaching operations.[4]

Like her sister ships, the Ruth First and Victoria Mxenge she is named in honor of an anti-apartheid heroine -- Lillian Ngoyi.[1][2]
