Television adaptation

In the television series, the twin protagonists are portrayed by Alexandra Chando. Sutton is alive, and switches places with Emma (whose last name is changed to Becker) so that she can search for their real parents. Ethan, who is already Sutton's boyfriend, learns of the truth but decides to help the sisters. However, Emma and Ethan develop feelings for each other, which makes Sutton angry and she returns to take her life back, planning to ruin Emma in the process. The first season ended March 5, 2012 after the airing of 20 episodes, and the series was renewed for second season that is scheduled to premiere in January 2013.
