Cinderella State is a term used in Australia by people living in states that are financially or politically disadvantaged, in comparison to other states.

In Western Australia the term, and its implications were expressed in the 1933 Secession proposal.[1][2]

The term is not a sole usage, as it can be found in use in other states, such as Tasmania,[3] and Queensland[4]
