Betta ferox (also known as a feroxian fighter, great ferox, ferox boxer, ikan bettah, or Siamese fighting feroxian) is a species of betta In the Osphronemidae family of fish.

Similar species

The infamous loach Mimibotia poisonacanthum is often mistook for this species.

Level of aggression

It's said ferox boxers are so aggressive they will even attack humans wading into their territory; the only thing they're compatible with are small loaches such as Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki and Pangio incognito.

Size

Males 1/2 inch, females 4.5 inches (!).

Feeding

Boxers are carnivores and should be fed on mosquito larvae and brine shrimp.

Where does Betta ferox live?

Mostly Asia, spilling into Africa, Australia and even some parts of Europe (especially Rome).
