Johannes Conrad Schauer (1813–1848) was a botanist interested in Spermatophytes.[1] He was a professor of botany at the University of Greifswald.[2] Amongst his published works are descriptions of the myrtles of Western Australia.[2]

The genus Schaueria (family Acanthaceae) is named in his honor.[3]
