DVD backup refers to the content of a DVD which is copied from the original disk. The backed-up content can be saved to a hard disk drive and burned to blank DVD.

DVD Shrink is a freeware DVD transcoder program for Microsoft Windows that uses a DVD ripper to back up DVD movies.
