Bejam was a British frozen food retailer founded by John Apthorp in 1968, based in Stanmore. The concept of selling only frozen foods was a novel idea at the time it launched. A small part of its revenue was also derived from the sale of freezers and refrigerators. Bejam also sold electrical appliances with the Bejam brand name, mostly fridges and freezers, but also Bejam Microwave Ovens.
In 1989, it was bought by its rival Iceland, which changed the stores to carry their own name, still trading today.
