Not to be confused with Original Productions.

Original Media is an American production company founded in 2002 by Charlie Corwin and Clara Markowicz. The company produces feature films, reality television, scripted television and digital programming.[1] Some of Original Media's television series include the TLC series Miami Ink and spinoffs LA Ink and NY Ink, the Bravo series The Rachel Zoe Project, OWN's The Gayle King Show, Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers and Dual Survival, TLC and Destination America's BBQ Pitmasters, the History channel's Swamp People, DIY Network's King of Dirt, Logo's Be Good Johnny Weir and NBC's The Philanthropist.[2]

Original Media's feature film credits include Academy Award nominated independent feature films. The Squid and the Whale, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005 and won Best Director and Best Screenplay, was nominated for six Spirit Awards, three Golden Globes, and one Academy Award. Half Nelson, which premiered at Sundance in 2006, received multiple nominations and awards including an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor (Ryan Gosling), five Independent Spirit Award nominations (including Best Picture) and Best Picture at The Gotham Awards. A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, which also premiered at Sundance in 2006 where it won Best Director and Best Ensemble Cast, went on to win Critics Week at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards. The company's latest film, Twelve, starring Chace Crawford and directed by Joel Schumacher was released in August 2010.

The company, headquartered in New York, is a subsidiary of Endemol USA, a leading producer of television programming specializing in reality and non-scripted genres for network and cable television,[3] who acquired Original Media in 2007.
