Thank you for being one of Wikipedia's top medical contributors!

please help translate this message into the local language
The Cure Award
In 2013 you were one of the top 300 medical editors across any language of Wikipedia. Thank you so much for helping bring free, complete, accurate, up-to-date medical information to the public. We really appreciate you and the vital work you do!

We are wondering about the educational background of our top medical editors. Would you please complete a quick 5-question survey? (please only fill this out if you received the award)

Thanks again :) --Ocaasi, Doc James and the team at Wiki Project Med Foundation

Thanks for the beautifying!

Hello Magioladitis-- Thank you for making our efforts look good. :-) You should know that three more teams from our project will post their findings under "Major themes" soonish (everything sort of stops here for Labor Day); we'll try and get the references in the right order (that's partly what we got wrong, right?)--DrX (talk) 18:55, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DrX keep up the good work! I am glad I helped a bit! -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:53, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You said I disagree - I am curious, why? Denisarona (talk) 13:26, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Denisarona Hi and thanks for contacting. I disagree for the reasons given by other editors. No reason to add local names in the wikilink. You can use the talk page to state your arguments though since I do not have strong feelings about it but please at least put some description when editing. You reverted others for no obvious reason. Thanks. -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:28, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted the IP's edit because they gave Every party name is in English. as the reason. I then explained my action of the IP's talk page. Not all the names are English and e.g. the Spanish party We can is listed under its Spanish name on the English Wikipedia and is referred to by its Spanish name on English language news broadcasts (as is Sinn Féin from Ireland). Regards Denisarona (talk) 13:35, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK. -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:48, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

Resolved

Noticing that your (?) bot is tagging talk pages of many articles (such as Photoreceptor), I'm wondering if you'll get to Photobiology and Scotobiology. The one is a bare stub, the other a bit more developed, but I wonder if either is really notable. --Hordaland (talk) 21:04, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hordaland what exactly do you want to be done? -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:06, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought an addition of your project might bring new eyes to the articles. --Hordaland (talk) 21:17, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I performed general fixes on these pages. -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:46, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fella

Hi Fella, I just wanted to make you aware that this dude keeps going around taking key words and WP:Censor articles. I know Wikipedia is about freedom of expression, so was a bit concerned. Look at his edit history. Thanks 194.217.96.40 (talk) 09:48, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yobot: sortkey and dash

Resolved

This edit is a problem; it says it is replacing a dash with a hyphen per Wikipedia:MCSTJR#Other_exceptions. But Wikipedia:MCSTJR#Other_exceptions doesn't say to use hyphens instead of dashes. It seems to indicate that it should use nothing instead of dashes (but doesn't say why). Would you please either make it stop or fix Wikipedia:MCSTJR#Other_exceptions to support what it is doing? (Presumably the latter, but I don't know.) Thanks, ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:08, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ErikHaugen, "Only hyphens, apostrophes and periods/full stops punctuation marks should be kept in sort values.". Changing dashes and all the dash variants to a hyphen is the proper way. All the dash variants have a different sort order. By changing the defaultsort to all hyphens, they all have the same sort order. This really helps when article titles have different dashes, but are essentially the same... "2013-2014 Mud wrestling season", where the "dash" between the year varies. Bgwhite (talk) 18:06, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, like I said, "presumably the latter". I'm just asking that Magioladitis fix Wikipedia:MCSTJR. Thanks, ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 18:11, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If it doesn't go well, then you can simply seek consensus on policy page or inform there right after making a change yourself. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 18:16, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OccultZone the question was a frank question and it was answered. I, or someone else, may improve SORTKEY soon too to cover this question. This is not a discussion about a disagreement that needs to form a consensus or anything. I know that you want to help but please keep your answers on-topic otherwise message the other editor directly or find a way that this discussion can be read in a week without huge effort. I try to keep discussion on my talk page short. I am not a big fan of large portions of texts. -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:50, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah it has been solved for now I guess,[1] though dashes are usually non-controversial edits. They may have been prevalent for last few months, I never had any of them on the articles that I edited until about January this year. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 18:53, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dil Murad Khan

Resolved

Hello Magioladitis,
Re your revision of 08:30, 25 November 2013 here to Dil Murad Khan. You seem to have missed the reason the refs and cats were missing, which was several edits the day before causing a large unexplained deletion here by 119.154.239.191 (talk · contribs). They removed about ⅓ the text and 4 refs., the references section and categories! No explanation. I have reverted back to revision 480529804 by ChrisGualtieri @ 18:29, 6 March 2012. Just FYI. --220 of Borg 08:37, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Strange tag

Resolved

Hi. Re this edit: (i) it has over 200 outgoing links to Wikipedia pages, and that excludes the navboxes, so {{underlinked}} is inapplicable; (ii) other than that, the only change was to bypass a redir, WP:AWB#Rules of use item 4. There are plenty more examples. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:58, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

rev 10248 fixes it. Still all other pages need to be converted to use Ukrsrow instead of html table. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:05, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was surprised myself, when I had read this complaint. But wanted to see your response, definitely technical than I had thought. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 16:05, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

TfD

Resolved

Your close of the Orphan tag discussion was improper because you are involved. Please revert. Andrew (talk) 21:19, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew you are discussing the deletion of a template based on the fact that it should not be visible. You should at least reword of what you suggest otherwise the discussion is off-topic. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:23, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew You are welcome to discuss visibility of the template on its talk page or somewhere else. But the use of the TfD place is wrong. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:24, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew reverted but I think you are on the wrong place to discuss the matter. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:33, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew thanks. Now it is a TfD discussion. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:46, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage

I think that the lead should not start with "This list is for the English Wikipedia." Many of us have changed such lead from articles. But this article can be edited only by admins.

Lead should be edited out, or you should copy & paste "This list is only for the English Wikipedia. Approval is not always needed on other projects. If you want to be registered to use this software, add your name to the bottom of the list on the talk page. Any admin can add any user to the list of enabled users." From guide to the lead. Thanks OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 03:40, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved

You wrote "the RfC was only on the placement" which is why I did not express support in deleting the template, but commented on those opinions suggesting or implying that it should remain in article space indefinitely. As you will see I have struck through my comments because it is alleged at ANI that they were canvassed (I have not bothered to see if they were or were not). -- PBS (talk) 17:37, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

PBS I think the entire discussion on TfD started on a wrong basis and this won't turn good. An editor got upset from seeing a tag on a page they created, starts a TfD on the basis on misunderstanding a consensus, asks for changes in the visibility and then suggests deletion on the basis that the visibility status does not satisfy them (and the Rfc perhaps). You are an experienced editor and I believe you see the wrong basis of the entire thing. I 've no problem to discuss anything but it has to be a constructed discussion I believe. -- Magioladitis (talk) 17:47, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Technical 13 has taken the matter to ANI where, in defending my own action, I have pointed out that Magioladitis advertised the TfD discussion at WikiProject Orphanage yesterday. They might be expected to be partisan but I have no particular complaint about this myself as they would obviously have to be told; it just seems necessary to put our actions in context. I mainly letting you know as a courtesy, as is the convention for ANI. Andrew (talk) 18:02, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew thanks for letting me know. -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:03, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Canvassing is problematic if it is done by sock, ip, SPA, etc. It is also problematic if other editor has no involvement. Here, canvassing don't apply. Left a note already.
Magioladitis, PBS has referred to the same consensus once again that he had noted before. But I was also thinking that where you were? OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 18:39, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of talk page templates

So why'd you remove the template {{calm}} from Talk:Child sexual abuse and Talk:Anti-pedophile activism and who know where else. Your edit summary ("Calm not needed!") is not too helpful, it seems counterintuitive. Is it a joke? These are fairly contentious articles. What's going on here? Herostratus (talk) 03:06, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Herostratus For instance Talk:Child sexual abuse had no hard discussions as I noticed. I restored them but I do not think we should add banners around only under the fear that the discussion might get heated. -- Magioladitis (talk) 03:25, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Talk header" partially serves the purpose of the "calm" by guiding editors to be polite etc. I would use "calm" in the case of long discussions where there is constant fight. -- Magioladitis (talk) 03:28, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did not remove it from many pages. Mainly for category talk pages with no discussion on them. -- Magioladitis (talk) 03:37, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have found some pages where this template has been used, and talkheader already existed. I would've told you to remove or removed it myself, but then I thought that you will get them in near future. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 04:06, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Psychedelics, Dissociatives and Deliriants

This is really old, but do you know what the intent was with this edit, which added

{{WikiProject Psychedelics, Dissociatives and Deliriants
Talk:Soundgarden/GA1}}

inside the {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}? It's still there: nobody's picked up on it in 3 1/2 years. Are there more edits like that left over? --Redrose64 (talk) 22:59, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redrose64 thank for the heads up. I do not think they are more. I'll check though. -- Magioladitis (talk) 05:35, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I removed the {{Talk:Soundgarden/GA1}} again because the GAN closed as succesful more than four years ago, and the page is linked through the article history. Still unsure why {{WikiProject Psychedelics, Dissociatives and Deliriants}} is in there, because there wasn't anything relevant before your earlier edit. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:13, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Redrose64 Ah yes. Old bug. In the weird case of sole double curly brackets on a single line, it would add this project! IT has been fixed and I thought I had removed it in all cases. It seems I missed one. Thanks for reporting. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:30, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

AWB edits??

Hello Magioladitis, first time on your talk page :) . I have a query regarding AWB edits. How can I count the number of edits I made using AWB?? Is there any such page which lists the number of edits made by AWB???? Thanks and don't forget to ping me (I'm currently experiencing short term memory loss) Jim Carter (talk) 20:43, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It is noted in your AWB window, that how many pages you have edited and how many pages you have skipped. When you close the window, they will vanish. There is one more tool for the queries about automated and semiautomated edits. Although it doesn't work if the editor has high edit count. BAG

Resolved

I've undone the change you made to the link that you changed in the In The Nightside Eclipse page.
The problem is that, the link, as you had changed it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Dor%C3%A9#mediaviewer.2FFile:Gustave_Dore_-_Death_on_the_Pale_Horse_resized.png
it opens Gustave Doré's page,
instead of the "Death on a Pale Horse (Revelation)" image.

I think that the only way for the link to work is to keep it as an external link (as I had it)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Dor%C3%A9#mediaviewer/File:Gustave_Dore_-_Death_on_the_Pale_Horse_resized.png

PS. Together with this page I had also added that link to the Emperor (EP) page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlueSpiderMan (talkcontribs) 12:38, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BlueSpiderMan OK thanks for the heads up. I'll have a look. We should try to add an internal link though. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:41, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Magioladitis You've changed the link into https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gustave_Dore_-_Death_on_the_Pale_Horse_resized.png
This way the pic is opened covering only a part of the screen,
while my link was opening filling all the page, and you could even navigate to the other images of the gallery too.
I still prefer my link, but if it's not by Wikipedia's rules to use a wikipedia link as external, then so be it. -- BlueSpiderMan (talk) 16:00, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BlueSpiderMan, Wikipedia:Files suggests that we use internal links for images. I tried to convert it so it does it your way but I failed. I 'll ask more editors' opinions on that. -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:07, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Magioladitis Great. Thanks for your effort. -- BlueSpiderMan (talk) 16:33, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You might want to review this edit, in which you tried to change an external link to the wiki into an internal wikilink, but left it a redlink by including an extraneous comma, and seem to have overlooked that it was a Wikipedia article being used as a reference, so it should have been deleted altogether. Hi Magioladitis. I would like to ask you for help. There is an Shi'i Iranian user, name BoogaLouie who has done many editing with bad intentions and tendentious for a prolonged period and structured manner on articles relating to Sunni and Saudi arabia. Can you monitor it, or fix it. His edit based on source that can not be accountable or books from the opponent. See [2], [3], [4], [5],[6], and many more. Thank You. This is BoogaLouie. I have made quite a few edits on topics involving Wahhabi Mission, religion and politics in Saudi Arabia and related matters recently. While many of the edits are less than flattering to the Kingdom's rulers I think you will find them based on reliable sources and otherwise following wikipedia policies and regulations. (PS, I am not Iranian.) --BoogaLouie (talk) 16:19, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Magioladitis. This BoogaLouie guy has a motive. He is Shi'i Iranian movement supporter. Everybody is allowed to editing about Middle east, thats OK. But an Shi'i Iranian supporter editing Sunni & Arabic articles with only inserting negative paragraph from unreliable source. Its very obvious. Its not Netral. Its something you need too give attention. I know he is a longtime editor. Thats why i said this is a framed, structured, systematic false information. Can you review Boogalouie edits in Sunni articles.36.81.88.47 (talk) 22:53, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There's a second IP address for this guy. Dude seriously, this is just silly (addressing the IP, not you Magioladitis). Need to add a few parameters on the talk pages, I don't think I will be doing that on this acc, because it is busy. Can you add "Occults" to the checkpage? That's my other acc. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 07:49, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OccultZone please follow the procedure. Request approval to the CHECKPAGE. I try not to get involved with approvals. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:10, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok done. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 08:17, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove Shoegazing from the song's categories? Catlemur

User:Catlemur in which edit I did this? -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:39, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Catlemur: Watch again,[7] "Category:Shoegazing songs" was already added, Magioladitis only removed 2nd addition of the category. Category still exists on the article. You can remove duplicate categories. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 12:41, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Did AWB replaced [] with [ ?[8] Don't you think that it should remove the whole []? OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 03:19, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Family Support in the US

Magioladitis: Thanks for stopping by on the family support page, though the Association for Retarded Citizens-US was renamed the Arc almost two decades ago!! While I study organizations in family support and associations, family support is a concept, policy and practice which is broader than the family groups (known in other fields as targeted secondary clients); families originated services such as non-professional respite (family group funding), and are often reluctant to even move to professional child care (public administration funding), and often are unfamiliar with family support as a long term service for deinstitutionalized populations (with original family support groups in Syracuse, New York). Current is "family-directed" services which still has not clarified who in the family yet from the 1980s (e.g., mother usually), and also requests "behaviorism" versus functional community (jobs, education). My newest chapter is on Family support, family theories and family studies (Racino, in press, 2014). JARacino (talk) 17:05, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A question

I'm not exactly following the whole affair, except for a couple of comments I made some time in the past but would this be relevant to what you've been doing today? See: Qrococcor (talk · contribs). I'm asking because of one item that showed up on my watchlist with the "|quote=" which I set up, removed without edit summary. All best, Poeticbent talk 18:34, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please help

Please have a look at this and help if possible, I have no idea who to turn to with this so I'm trying to contact more experienced Wikipedians.

Hi! Would you care to review my FA nomination for the article Of Human Feelings? The article is about a jazz album by Ornette Coleman, and the criteria for FA articles is at WP:FACR. If not, feel free to ignore this message. Cheers! Dan56 (talk) 00:39, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why you have removed famous panchal people list from "Panchal" Page

Hi Magioladitis,

I have made changes in Panchal pages and as this page was modified by you again.

Just would like to know why you have removed Famous panchal People list, that i posted in this page "Panchal" page as the list is taken itself from "Wikipedia". Thus requesting you to please dont change the list as this is very genuine and taken from Wikipedia.

**What is the reason of deleting this Famous Panchal People list, as this page is for Panchal people and we have to name famous Panchal people on this page, What is wrong in this. Please dont do this as it will heart Panchal people feeling.

Also, i would like to tell you that i know Panchal people and will change only true think on this page, thus requesting you to please dont change without verify it.

(talk page stalker) I'm not Magioladitis, but I'd like to note that Wikipedia content must be verifiable and the subjects must be notable. People you regard as important and famous may still not meet the notability guidelines of Wikipedia, so please consider backing up such lists with reliable secondary sources. De728631 (talk) 18:29, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@De728631: I don't think Magioladitis has removed anything, except the unnecessary "<br />" tags and stub tag, but Pp1135 has removed sourced material.[9]. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 18:57, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're right. On a second look, Magioladitis didn't touch the list of eminent panchals. Sitush, however, did remove it. De728631 (talk) 19:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
