Just placed new sub-section about controvers(ies). Removed previous information about the petition/features as it was now redundant. [[User:Appalling|Appalling]] ([[User talk:Appalling|talk]]) 10:09, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

I don't know about anyone else but I believe in the second paragraph of the article would make more sense if it said
"The game has the same concept as its predecessors.
Instead of...
"The game has the same concept as its predecessor, The Sims 3."

Anyone agree or is it too simplistic?

Reception Section

I just did a cull on the reception section to remove either unreliable comments, scores without context, and in one case, a review-in-progress that's useless to Wikipedia as we know it will change and this site isn't a blog. Forgot to log in when I did it, so it's an anonymous IP in the log. We need to keep an eye on that section until we have enough official reviews to quote reliably as well as look for properly sourced third-party coverage of the fan community reaction. I.E. - Metacritic user scores are unreliable due to being easily gamed, but an article (such as the one linked from Crave) that discusses them is far more useful to the section. Regional cluelessness

> and is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in Fall 2014.[1]

Released in fall.

WHOSE fall?????????????????????? (86.139.231.145 (talk) 10:20, 22 March 2014 (UTC))[reply]

Come on, this is basic internationalization. At least list the country, but better, put a month range. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.90.50 (talk) 06:47, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Erledigt The way you went about raising your issue with the article was uncivil. But the fact remains that your point is a valid and correct one. "Fall" (or any other season name) should not be used as a date substitute, unambiguous dates or period indicators should be used instead. For full details, see WP:SEASON - X201 (talk) 11:16, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Release Date for The Sims 4:

September 2014 (15th or 26th)

Mac version?

While this article and ea.news says the game will be available for Mac and PC http://www.ea.com/news/maxis-unveils-the-sims-4, the FAQ for the actual Sims page http://www.thesims.com/en-us/the-sims-4#/frequently-asked-questions says the game will be available for PC only. Am not certain which statement is older. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:2780:1E3:221:E9FF:FEE0:8C3C (talk) 07:52, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would assume that it will be available for Mac and PC, as other sources such as Gamespot continue to report (as recently as two days ago) that this is the case. I think that if there had been a reversal of this decision then EA would have made an announcement. MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 10:58, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date

The Sims VIP:

"Confirmed: The Sims 4 To Release September 2nd, 2014" The Sims 4 Release Date

Joe Parkinson (talk) 11:49, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There's just no way that this is correct, but I don't know the correct info to fix it: "announced the game on May 6, 2001, and it is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows on September 2, 2002" 75.120.238.104 (talk) 21:44, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

E3 info

Information about the game was shown today (june 9th) during e3. Dude22072 (talk) 20:09, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've been doing Google searches for the E3 information to add the referenced material to the article, which I've been working on adding the information to the article. —Mythdon 20:12, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Classification

The comparison of Germany's rating of TS3 and Russia's rating of TS4 seems misleading. It makes it sound like TS4 has more adult (or at least more LGBT-friendly) content than TS3 but I don't think that's true. TS3 had full-on gay marriage and gay married couples could adopt children. TS4 may also be considered suitable for ages 6 and up in Germany. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.86.245.68 (talk) 15:08, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

could be delayed further

according to what i have read people are holding a pertition to delay the game in order for more stuff to be added as neither toddlers nor pools is present nor swimming of any kind. i suggest monitoring the release date closely in case it should change.2A02:FE0:C111:2120:0:0:0:2 (talk) 22:41, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A controversy section

Due to a lot of uproar among the fans, an entire section dedicated to the controversy is in place. Appalling (talk) 22:26, 5 July 2014 (UTC) Just placed new sub-section about controvers(ies). Removed previous information about the petition/features as it was now redundant. Appalling (talk) 10:09, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
