    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars.     Pending changes protection: I have sort of monitored this article off and on for the last year, and during this time, this article has been semi-protected as least once. The primary issue regarding my request for protection is that this article seems to have IP editors who frequently attempt to add links to "Fantasy" or "High fantasy" to the lead of the article. Each time, the IP editor(s) are reverted per WP:BRD, but then never start a discussion.     Semi-protection: Over the past four years, multiple IP editors and single-purpose accounts have edited or overwritten the page, according to their edit summaries at the request of Pamuk himself. This has happened on 5 August 2010, 27 June 2013, 3 November 2013, and 30 September 2014. I have not tried to contact any of these editors since they do not seem to stick around for any length of time and have not left email addresses on file, but the changes have been very disruptive—obliterating the work of other editors as well as categories, maintenance templates, and wikilinks even when text they kept adding already formed the majority of the article. —Neil P.     @Ctg4Rahat:: If it is a blatant copyright violation, it chould be tagged for speedy deletion as per WP:CSD. Therefore, I don't think there is a need to protect it from editing. If it keeps being created again after deleting under CSD, your request should be for create protection, not semi-protection, which only protects from editing.     Temporary move protection: At 01:09, 2 October, a discussion was initiated about moving this article to "2014 Iranian intervention in Iraq" (dropping the word "led"). The discussion registered 1 note of support, 1 note of opposition, and 1 suggestion move discussion be tabled until a parallel RfC that effected it was worked through. ([5]) The editor initiating this discussion declared that "bias toward Syria and Hezbollah" ([6]) was evident, expressed a very passionate opinion that a move must happen immediately ("Iran leads no one.") and then, at 17:57, 2 October 2014‎, effected the move anyway. This article is currently under active community sanctions and a parallel article (2014 American-led intervention in Iraq) has suffered an endless sequence of charges and counter-charges of edit-warring. In order to avoid a probable flurry of 1RR reports, blocks of otherwise good editors, and repeated move/un-moves that will likely happen, I would like to request this very lowest level of protection - 1-week of move protection only; just long enough to allow the nascent discussion on the move to develop.     The requesting editor here is the initiator of the numerous Admin actions on related articles and the many editors he disagrees with. He initiated the "endless sequence of charges and counter-charges of edit-warring" on the parallel article (2014 American-led intervention in Iraq) including a still active AfD.     Hi, LegacyPAC ... I'm afraid I don't know what the other issues you're referencing are about. I'm just asking for 1 week move protection while consensus is being built in the discussion you initiated: ([7]). Why do you object - were you planning on moving the article again prior to a consensus? You raised some great points in the discussion you initiated and, I think that, though you don't have a move consensus yet, if you give it a few days, you might develop one. In general, we don't usually move articles 15 hours after opening a discussion on the topic and after only 2 other editors have commented, both to object.
