Volker Quaschning (born 1969) is a German engineer and professor of Renewable Energy Systems at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft, Berlin.

Life

Having studied Electrical engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Quaschning wrote his PhD about photovoltaics at Technical University of Berlin. After obtaining a habilitation about Low-carbon power system scenarios in Germany he worked at German Aerospace Center in Almeria, Spain, where he did research about Concentrated solar power. In 2004 he was announced professor of renewable energy systems at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft in Berlin.

Quaschning is author of several books, including the scientific textbook "Regenerative Energiesystems", which was first published in 1998. In 2015 the 9th edition of this book has been published. This book was also translated in English and Arabian language and Russian language, a translation in Kazakh language is in progress.[1] According to Panos Konstantin the book is "highly recommendable".[2]
