Deutsche Bank S.p.A. is an Italian bank based in Milan, Lombardy. It was subsidiary of Deutsche Bank A.G.. Deutsche Bank S.p.A. was known as Banca d'America e d'Italia (literally the Bank of America and Italy) until 1994, which was acquired by Amadeo Giannini, the founder of Bank of Italy (United States) in 1922. Before 1922 the bank was known as Banca dell'Italia Meridionale. Deutsche Bank acquired Banca d'America e d'Italia in 1986.[1] In 1994 the Italian subsidiary also acquired Banca Popolare di Lecco.
