7flix is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, which was launched by the Seven Network on 28 February 2016.[1]

History

On 18 December 2015, a test pattern began broadcasting on channel 76 reading "New Channel Coming Soon".[2] Seven acknowledged the broadcast and director of programming Angus Ross formally announced on 1 February 2016 that Seven was launching a new channel and more details would be released soon.[3] During the ad-break of miniseries Molly on 7 February 2016, Seven announced that channel 76 would be named 7flix and would be launched on 28 February 2016.[4][5][6][1] The "New Channel" test pattern was then replaced with a continuous promo loop for 7flix.

Programmierung

Premiere series will include Grandfathered, Galavant and Agent Carter. Series including Once Upon A Time, The Muppets, The Mindy Project and The Amazing Race, which have previously debuted on the Seven Network, will air new seasons on 7flix.[7]

7flix also features films sourced from its studio-output deals, including Columbia Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, DreamWorks with Touchstone, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures.

7flix is available in standard definition digital in metropolitan areas and regional Queensland through Seven Network owned-and-operated stations including ATN Sydney, HSV Melbourne, BTQ Brisbane, SAS Adelaide, TVW Perth and STQ Queensland. Regional affiliates Prime7/GWN7, Southern Cross Seven and WIN7 have provided no word yet of their intentions to carry 7flix.
