Dear Daniel,

Essaidi is a famous Dutch artist and entrepreneur, well known for several pioneering projects in the contemporary art movement known as 'bio-art'. Apart from her artistic achievements (which had to be redacted due to them being perceived as PR in previous edits) she is also known for her solutions to societal challenges. For example her current project that makes bioplastic and textiles from manure is making big headlines in the Netherlands as we speak. (Surplus manure is a huge problem in the Netherlands and Germany). And recently she was a speaker at startup fest europe (http://opening.startupfesteurope.com/) among other speakers such as the CEO's of Apple, Uber, Alphabet/Google, AirBnB, Booking.com, etc.

Her unique approach where she utilises the creative industry combined with biotechnology makes her a notable figure, even the Dutch Government uses her projects as examples for excellent international cooperation, in the IA special about the BioBased Economy in the Netherlands.

The initial version of this article has been reduced over several months to only a single event. So I understand your current reaction towards the article because right now it clearly falls under the category of "People notable for only one event", yet Essaidi clearly isn't notable for only one event.

I hope my latest edit, which introduces mestic®, might finally get this article approved.

Kind regards, Hela

Tb

Hi there. Thank you in advance for your time. My article has been rejected as WP:NOTGUIDE.
I have read the above article and I cannot seem to find what part of my article gives the impression of a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal.
I am merely trying to describe what in-application questions are and how they work, since the resources on the subject are limited to non-existent.
I tried to follow the structure and logic of the Multiple Choice questions article which already "resides" in wikipedia.
I eagerly await for your reply Oneirovates (talk) 07:38, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Daniel,

thank you so much for taking time to review my first article - the one about FTTO. I was a bit disappointed to see its submission has been declined, because I took great care to select the references and links and to suport statements with facts. Before submitting the article I spent a few days analyzing other articles and familiarizing myself with Wikipedia Citing Codex.

Maybe I need more help to understand what can be done to improve the veritability of the article.

For example, should I provide a source to each single statement or sentence I make? And when ideas for a whole abstract come from one single book, article or publication? Is it NOT enough to provide links to other Wikipedia pages or maybe sources cited by other wikipedia pages? If there are some well known facts about e.g. fibre, should I also support them with references, etc.?

Please let me know. I would be very thankful and grateful to you for your help or any idea that would help me to go forward.

Best regards,

Can you help me resolve this apparent conflict? The notoriety of the subject is, in my opinion, indisputable following a well-publicized controversy. Hundreds of articles published in reputable news sources. I selected several sources to reference it, but I didn't want to overdo it so as to avoid cite kill. I can't seem to find the proper balance between not registering notoriety for lack of citations and cite kill for listing too many sources. Can you offer me any advice or feedback?

Thank you for the review of the article 'Bank of Utah'. This is my first article and need as much help as I can get!

I have referenced data from a source separate from Bank of Utah's web site. However, I retained the advertisement about offering the first credit in Utah. Is that still an acceptable reference?

Contests

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:15, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Estelle Glancy

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reviewing the article Anna Estelle Glancy and accepting it.

Unfortunately, looking through the editing history, I noticed that once you accepted it, someone called David Eppstein decided to delete all content in the article leaving only the first line.

Can you explain why he has done this? I am a little disappointed because I wouldn't have bothered contributing anything to Wikipedia if the whole article would be deleted.

Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OpticalHistorian (talkcontribs) 00:56, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, could you tell me what would be needed for this page to go live? It was refused on grounds of notability but Carl Hogg is the head coach of a Professional rugby team in the world's top league. Is more detail needed?

copyvio and AfC

You don't have to accept an article first if you are meaning to list it for deletion as copyvio, as you rightly listed William N. Kelley, MD., which I have now deleted G12 applies to drafts also. It's less confusing just to nominate the draft. DGG ( talk ) 21:32, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but why didn't you just tag this for speedy deletion as vandalism or a hoax? "Joel Doss is the sexiest meme master to ever set foot on this planet"? Drmies (talk) 13:53, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have been trying to create a page CETPA and have retried doing it several times, but everytime I make a page it is deleted. It shows that my article is a either promoting or advertising my company. But it isn't. We try to stick to your rules and regulations and despite of doing everything to meet your criteria it is deleted. Could you give us a reason and help us create a page. prefix:User talk:Daniel kenneth/

we based our page on https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christa_Laetitia_Deeleman-Reinhold and used the same reference methods

could you indicate which sources we should replace by footnotes

thanks

Charles Sherman (artist)

I have been making corrections and improvements to article and gaining editing skill during the process (I hope!). One thing that comes to mind is that Charles Sherman (sculptor) would be a more appropriate Wikipedia: Disambiguation term than (artist) as his current work appears to be wholly sculptural. The rejection of our article on RacingLine Ltd is a big disappointment. Would you please consider a few points and then advise what way forward we might follow.

  • We used as a model the Wikipedia article on a comparable company, PalmerSport. Compared with the proposed article on RacingLine, the PalmerSport article seems to have very weak support from References and External Sources, and because of this we feel we are not being judged by the same criteria as those which allowed the other article to be accepted.
  • The reference [1] says “ In 2011, Championship Organisers RacingLine added the ‘EuroCup’ into the calendar, bringing the best of all European Formula Ford racers together for four rounds." This reference, from the website of the supreme body of international motor sport, confirms that RacingLine plays, and has played, a major role in the running and development of Formula Ford and now Formula 4 in the UK.
  • The respected motoring magazine Evo says in a review at [2] “With a decade of running VW’s UK operation behind them, Racingline has employed all its hard-won knowledge and experience and produced a tuned road-going Mark V Golf that has the potential to wind up a few Porsche owners on a trackday.”

The above two references, both of which were added to the article for the re-submission, seem to us to supply evidence of notability. We have searched extensively but do not hold out much hope of finding any more substantial published evidence. Are we therefore to take it that your decision is the final blow to our hopes of having our contribution to Wikipedia accepted? If not, what more can we do?

Hey Daniel. I was just on my rounds of cleaning up copyright violations and looked at the above draft. I can't seem to locate the copyvios from the page you flagged it as copying from. I might have just missed it, especially if it's [too] close paraphrasing rather than pure lifting. Can you point me to some of the offending text? (Note: it is not at all uncommon for a user to have control of the page they copied from and remove the text from there, so that could be what happened here and that's why I couldn't find it). By the way, the fact you looked and found this copyvio is great, but please note the instructions for copyvios at at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions#Step 1: Quick-fail criteria. In short, there are some additional steps after declining so that the copyvio isn't left on view and available from in the page history. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:14, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fuhghettaboutit FYI, you will not get a reply here. Cheers, Muffled Pocketed 05:03, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi: Ah, looking a bit in the history, I think I see what you mean. Not a good sign. Communication here is important. Speaking of that Fortuna, it may be that for others that 5 degree rotation thing you've got going on your talk page works okay, but just so you know, for me it cuts off much of the page. Despite getting a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom, I can only see the very edge of the threads; it makes your talk page unreadable for me.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:29, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Fuhghettaboutit: Any suggestions? As you can see, I raised the matter here in June. Muffled Pocketed 15:43, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi: So long as the person (we're speaking about you Daniel) edits okay and the lack of communication doesn't cause big problems there's nothing to do I know of. But it's unfortunate. It does have repercussions. I mean I wasted my time asking this person a question if they're not going to answer, right? And my question deserves an answer I think. Daniel, you flagged a page as a copyvio. I spent time checking it. I couldn't find it. More wasted time. And the posts from others above deserve answers too. Oh well.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:59, 3 September 2016 (UTC)16:58, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
