She is the eldest daughter of Muhammad Hashim Daulah and Khadeja Hashim. Her father passed away when she was only 13 years of age. She was forced to stop having education. She was very fond of reading books and started writing stories in newspapers.She was married to Saeed Raza Saeed, famous and prominent poet and journalist.After the birth of first son Sohail Saeed she moved to Pakistan along with her family.

Employment

Sultana Meher started her first employment with The Daily Hindustan, Bombay,then as an editor of the Ladies section in the newspaper The Daily ANJAAM, Karachi, Pakistan. She joined, The Daily JANG, Karachi and worked there from 1967 to 1979 as a Journalist.Sultana Meher published her own Monthly Magazine ‘’The Roop”, from 1980 to 1991.
