Canyon Independent School District is a school district based in Canyon, Texas, U.S.A.. Founded in 1895, it covers 817 square miles (2,120 km2) and also serves the portion of nearby Amarillo located in Randall County.[1] The Canyon ISD surpassed 8,000 students for the first time in 2005.[2]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[3]
