In regards to hosting the games, [[Colombia Olympic Committee]] President Baltazar Medina noted, "It’s important for our country to have Cali’s aspirations to host the Junior Pan American Games. An important factor for Colombia’s development has undoubtedly been the possibility of having the chance of hosting important multisport events such as the Bolivarian Games and Central American and Caribbean Games. This is the reason why we have applied to host these Games. With all due respect to other countries also aspiring to win the bid, we believe our application will be the favorite of the Executive Committee in their decision-making process."<ref name= ATR />

The 2021 Junior Pan American Games is a forthcoming international multi-sports event for athletes under the age 21 in the Americas, organized by the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).[1]

Candidate cities

The deadline for the presentation of candidacy to organize the first Junior Pan American Games was January 31, 2019, on which date Cali, Santa Ana, and Monterrey were selected as host city candidates by PASO.[2] The host city selection will take place at the next Executive Committee in San José, Costa Rica from March 27 to 28, 2019.[1][3]

Colombia Cali, Colombia

In regards to hosting the games, Colombia Olympic Committee President Baltazar Medina noted, "It’s important for our country to have Cali’s aspirations to host the Junior Pan American Games. An important factor for Colombia’s development has undoubtedly been the possibility of having the chance of hosting important multisport events such as the Bolivarian Games and Central American and Caribbean Games. This is the reason why we have applied to host these Games. With all due respect to other countries also aspiring to win the bid, we believe our application will be the favorite of the Executive Committee in their decision-making process."[2]

El Salvador Santa Ana, El Salvador

On January 29, 2019, Mayoress of Santa Ana Milena Calderón Sol de Escalón confirmed that the city would apply to be the host of the inaugural games, stating, "We are preparing all the presentations we have to do before the International Olympic Committee. It will be in Costa Rica where El Salvador, through Santa Ana, will be presented (to host the 2021 Junior Pan American Games)."[4]

Mexico Monterrey, Mexico

President of the Mexican Olympic Committee Carlos Padilla Becerra expressed interest in Monterrey hosting the inagural Junior Games, stating, "Mexico hopes that the competition can take place in Monterrey in 2021; it is a city that has the adequate infrastructure to carry them out, and it a minimum expenditure would be necessary."[5]
