Proposed split

This article is structured like an overview of more specific albums (photographs, stamps, etc.) The musical album is certainly a notable subject on its own, and there is certainly enough information to supply its own article. However, since the studio album was merged into this article, I think that relocating it into a section of a more broad article will allow for more detail on that topic, and also give underdeveloped musical album formats (concept, remix, etc.) a page to merge into to make one full article instead of several fragments. WikiRedactor (talk) 18:54, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you say a little morefuck you \]you \\\\\\\\\\

/music, and perhaps fold poorly-sourced/structured articles like "Concept album" into this one. The existing "Album" article may perhaps become a disambiguation of the various types of albums touched on in this page. WikiRedactor (talk) 19:33, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that all the interwiki links were to articles on music albums. Curious, I looked into the history of the article. It had from inception been about music albums - until this edit in Oct 2012 changed it to being about all forms of albums. It doesn't appear to be a malicious edit, simply a mistaken one, that has taken until now to resolve. SilkTork ✔Tea time 16:56, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Strange redirection

Just wondered why the phrase 'Album Chart' redirects here to a page defining what an album is, when I and presumably others looking for that phrase, are or would be looking for a page about the album chart in whichever country they are in. Maybe instead redirect to a disambiguation page that lists (by country then by different specific charts) any different album charts that we have a page for? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.254.49.145 (talk) 00:02, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing that up. I've now redirected to Record chart. SilkTork ✔Tea time 09:31, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No Mention of 8-Track Tapes?

The lack of any reference to 8 tracks appears to me to be an oversight. Regardless of their many shortcomings as a medium, they were a popular format for several years. Why the hate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.21.183.248 (talk) 20:17, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing it up, 8-Track Tapes are now mentioned. SilkTork ✔Tea time 10:09, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Audiocassettes were into 2000s

not 1990s.

Pre-recorded cassette tapes.

Pre-recorded cassette tapes were being sold at least in 1973 if not before that! This post states it began in the late 1970's, that's ridiculous. I am pretty sure sales of pre-recorded cassette tapes began in the late 1960's if you check. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 40.136.238.16 (talk) 10:55, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. nihlus kryik (talk) 16:46, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Number of tracks

Although in the article says that, according to the criteria of UK Albums Chart, it must have more than 4 songs, I want to know if it is mandatory for its release that it has a minimum of 10. Thanks.--190.179.187.113 (talk) 15:52, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Matching Folio

Added, as it's a valid album format. Ssredg (talk) 05:09, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Add {{Fact}} in section "Solo", after the statement "A solo performer working with other members will typically have full creative control of the band, be able to hire and fire accompanists, and get the majority of the proceeds".

Is it true? Have not very often other people some control, or even almost all control? (record producer, record label, music executive and so on). --95.236.136.51 (talk) 07:33, 20 September 2019 (UTC) 95.236.136.51 (talk) 07:33, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request: Hatnote for redirect

I've boldly changed the DAB at Music Album to be a redirect to this article, per WP:ONEOTHER and WP:DIFFCAPS: Music album already redirected here. This means we should change the hatnote to something like:
