Criticism EDD

The whole section is a bit much and reminds me of those complaint sites, but the EDD about a one time delayed payment falls under not notable one time events. There are alternative outlets outside of Wikipedia to air grievances.--WatchingContent (talk) 19:17, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The whole thing looks like a giant scarlet letter. Superkatlover (talk) 21:38, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm unsure what an "EDD" is in this context, but there's nothing in the article anymore about a delayed payment. The remaining cases in this section seem to be notable and should be kept. Zazpot (talk) 21:45, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cherry-picking negative information

I am in the process of vetting the "Controversy" section and have discovered that large amounts of the information and negative sources have been cherry-picked to make Deloitte look bad. I am adding a warning tag, as this is going to take a long time to clean up. Superkatlover (talk) 22:06, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No drive by tagging please. If you think you can improve the section then please do so rather than leaving it to others. Dormskirk (talk) 23:33, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am actually working very hard to correct the bias by removing bad sources and finding good ones. It is slow going as I am not experienced at this. Superkatlover (talk) 07:05, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
"large amounts of the information and negative sources have been cherry-picked to make Deloitte look bad" - that's quite a brazen assertion. Please remember to assume good faith. Zazpot (talk) 12:33, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with GovLab

Support merge. Dormskirk (talk) 23:17, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In the absense of any objections I have merged the more notable material into this article.Dormskirk (talk) 19:00, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hauptsitz

There seems to be some confusion as to where the international firm is headquartered. My understanding is that Deloitte & Touche LLP (in which the US firm sits) is based in New York see and Deloitte LLP (in which the UK firm sits) is based in London see. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (the international firm which both these LLPs are part of) is based in London. see. Happy to consider alternative evidence. Family

It's a French name. French ancestries? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 05:07, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See William Welch Deloitte for the ancestry of the founder. Dormskirk (talk) 09:53, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead doesn't cover all important aspects

Sorry, I tagged it but then had to go out. Se WP:LEAD. As it stands, the lead doesn't mention anything about controversies. "The lead serves as an introduction to the article and a summary of its most important contents." " It should identify the topic, establish context, explain why the topic is notable, and summarize the most important points, including any prominent controversies." @Dormskirk: I hope you see my point. Right now the is too short, doesn't cover all that it should, and stretches what should be at most two paragraphs out to three. Doug Weller talk 09:11, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I see your point and will add a bit more on history and something on controversies in particular. Thanks for explaining. Dormskirk (talk) 09:13, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: I have had a go at expanding the lead. I hope it is OK now. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 10:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Dormskirk: I'm really impressed. You've done an excellent job, it's a much better lead. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 11:14, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: Great. Many thanks for your kind words. Dormskirk (talk) 11:18, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
