Stephen Charles Jones (13 October 1965, Bristol, England) is a British bassist, songwriter and record producer.[1]
Career
Jones started playing electric and double bass at a young age.
Jones has toured and recorded with among others Robert Plant, Page and Plant, Strange Sensation, Goldfrapp and Siouxsie Sioux.[1][2] He plays both electric and double bass and is most associated with playing a clear acrylic bass. He is currently the bassist for Goldfrapp, and also works as a session musician, producer and composer.
Jones received a Grammy Award in 2009 as a co-writer of the song "Please Read the Letter" from the album Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.[3]
On 16 September 2013, Jones released his debut solo album Love Form through Stranger Records which highlighted his jazz and classical influences.
Personal life
Jones is married to Robert Plant's daughter, Carmen Jane Plant.
