Please post error reports regarding only what is currently or imminently on the Main Page. For general discussion about the Main Page, please use its talk page. |
Most issues relating to national variations of the English language have already been discussed here at length:

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 04:42 on 4 August 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

GameStop short squeeze erroneously described as "coordinated"
There is no mention in the article of coordination behind the GameStop squeeze. The article does cite users on the /r/wallstreetbets subreddit, but there's no mention of coordination by participants.
That word should be removed from the ITN section. →Σσς. (Sigma) 11:45, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Errors in "On this day"
- Nauru - the "list" of independence days is mostly unreferenced, the target article covers this observance in one sentence, is that all there is to say about this? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:54, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that List of national independence days is worth evaluating since it's not bolded. Regarding Nauru, the independence day is mentioned in the History section, but it doesn't really seem like much can be found about the observance to be written about. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 01:19, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- So if there's nothing to say about it, how does it fit the criteria (i.e. "should also be the most, or one of the most, important events associated with that article")? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:35, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- It probably still fits that criteria, by virtue of being an independence day. – I might see if I can find something more to write about it. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 15:27, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Not if it only warrants one sentence, clearly the observance is not that important. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 15:37, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- At User talk:Amakuru/Archive 22#Laos I was told that I know it's not specified, but the "most important thing in the article" rule really only applies to blurbs, not observances. My opinion is that we should either set that down in writing, or follow the rules as they are currently written. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 15:53, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

- Ed Koch - a dozen [citation needed] including some for direct quotes which really is verboten. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 10:44, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Fatimah - how does the source show this event happens on 2 February this year? Also I'm not seeing something formally referred to as "Fatimah's Birthday", just the celebration of the anniversary of Fatimah's birth. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! - Osvald Group - the article makes no mention of "Oslo East Station". The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:55, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- Agha Petros - where is date of death referenced? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:58, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
