The Romans didn't just slap together the Colosseum in 24 hours...

Rome ne s'est pas faite en un jour. In English, this is usually translated as "Rome wasn't built in a day". Wikipedia does not have a deadline; it would prefer you took your time and produced a few good articles than hundreds of crap articles.

It also means that when an editorial disagreement gets bogged down in argument, patience is your best friend. This can be intensely frustrating for an editor whose work is being challenged, but getting impatient and losing your cool will never help your case.
