Borjomi (Georgian: ბორჯომის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a district of Georgia, in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. Its main town is Borjomi.
Population
As of the 2014 census, the district carries a population of 25,214 and an area of 1,189 km². Urban population is 60.1%, rural respectively 39.9%. Gender composition is 12,030 male and 13,184 female.[1]
Politics
Borjomi Municipal Assembly (Georgian: ბორჯომის საკრებულო) is a representative body in Borjomi Municipality. currently consisting of 28 members. The council is assembles into session regularly, to consider subject matters such as code changes, utilities, taxes, city budget, oversight of city government and more. Borjomi sakrebulo is elected every four year. The last election was held in October 2017.
