Generalfeldmarschall equates to Marshal of the Luftwaffe?

I propose that the German section be removed from this article. Some countries use army rank titles for their air force officers whilst others, notably the UK, use titles which are only specific to their air force (usually including Air Marshal). Germany falls into the former category and thus does not belong on this page. In English, the ranks of countries in the first category, if translated, are given in the English language as army ranks which is consistent with the usage in the source foreign language. See the wikipedia article on Generalfeldmarschall for an example for this principle. 88.105.142.255 13:05, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is merely a list of people who held marshal rank in an air force. It does not suggest that they held a specific title. -- Necrothesp 13:12, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Although, in the case of Prince Philip, he holds the rank (as a title) of 'Marshal of the Air Force' in the RAAF - see List of titles and honours of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Also, Arjan Singh seems to hold this rank title, although some web sites list him as a Marshal of Air Force or Marshal of the Indian Air Force. The page on the Indian Air Force lists Marshal of the Air Force as a ceremonial rank. 88.105.137.15 21:21, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
