Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, WajdMeskini. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Fethi Meskini, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 09:43, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Longhair for your feedback. While it is true that I have a connection to the subject of the article, I know nothing of the content being written, as it was written by third-parties. I am just transcribing the document I received because I am a little familiar with Wikipedia's markup language.
To be more specific, the content itself was written by readers and academics who are familiar with the author (Fathi Meskini) and who wanted to publish a Wikipedia article about him. I'm just the somewhat tech-savvy person who was asked to handle the conversion from a Word document to a Wikipedia article.
If you think there is a conflict of interest, could you please tell me how to proceed at this point ? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by WajdMeskini (talkcontribs)
Thank you for your reply. As stated above, you are required to declare any conflict of interest and avoid creating or editing any article where a conflict of interest exists. You can use the {{UserboxCOI}} template to easily declare a conflict of interest at your userpage. -- Longhair\talk 10:26, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. I'll fill the template on my userpage to declare the conflict of interest. This is my first Wikipedia so I'll do my best to do things right. -- WajdMeskini\talk 10:32, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I made the necessary changes, adding a COI template on my user page, and a Connected_contributor template on the talk page of the draft. I hope this is satisfactory. -- WajdMeskini\talk 10:32, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
